Description: The Prince of Wales located in the Upper Richmond Road in Putney is a brilliantly chic and contemporary British boozer. Food was good value (for London) but fairly basic pub fair. The beer was reasonably priced and there was a good choice of ales. Fair mix of tourists/locals.

Although we've lived in Putney for over 2 years, this is our first time to the Prince of Wales - but won't be our last. Nice spacious dining room, very clean, well decorated and an open kitchen for chef-spotting! I had quail to start with - nicely cooked and really prettily presented. My companion has crab - again, well cooked... More

Been here a few times. Mainly for weekday lunch. Always has a good pub menu and service has been friendly and prompt. Has a spot outside if you are keen for outside dining.

Was ok, would rate it above any other pub, baring in mind there is a nandos a roxies just up the road, I would expect both better food, and better staff, as competition up that road is rife

Interesting food - cheese very greasy with chicken & bacon. Good chips and nice coffee. Service friendly. Lipstick on coffee cup questioned but it wasn't mine, waitress quickly changed it. Would go back - decent food, not expensive, but same didn't apply to beverages& beer which were expensive

So many things were great about this place except the most important part, the food. Lovely decor; nice vibey pub area with lots of people having drinks after work (although restaurant is much quieter in the back); good location between putney rail and east putney tube station; service was friendly, efficient and attentive. The menu was interesting with a lot... More

Excellent roast beef for two. Vegetarian member of group had limited choice but settled on the asparagus risotto - really delicious. Good atmosphere and attentive service. Not cheap for a 'pub lunch' but good value for quality of the food. Well kept beer.

Nice looking pub and attractive venue. Unfortunately the service makes you understand that they would rather appreciate if you rush your meal. The quality of the wine is average and so is the food, slightly overpriced overall. The desserts let us down. Attractive names but unpleasant tastes. The pear and dark chocolate frangipane tart was warm, dry and tasteless.

Very friendly and relaxed service with food that is so much more than just good pub-grub. An inventive menu with good variety. All four of us had excellent meals. Thoroughly recommended.

Good local fresh produce and a nice menu. One of the better restaurants of Putney with an adjoining pub for traditional atmosphere. We had a fab meal on New Year's Eve and on such a busy night, standards did not disappoint.
