Came here as a solo traveller as it was near my hotel. I must say i was so suprised to be greeted by a lovely waitress, given a great table and offered/served a drink immediatley despite it being a busy saturday night with no reservation. Had a special polenta starter dish and was so big! So be wary the serves... More

Visited whilst in London for work one evening on my own. I was made to feel very welcome. All of the staff were attentive. Their's good choice on the menu and the specials made it difficult to choose what I was going to have! I enjoyed my food and will visit again when in the area.

This restaurant along Southampton Row is always excellent and the moment you walk through the door you are made to feel most welcome - the atmosphere is great and the team always happy to serve you with a smile. Currently hidden under scaffolding but don't be fooled a little gem in the heart of Bloomsbury -try it out.

Staying locally and ended up eating here 3 nights in a row. After a busy day of walking and sightseeing it was great to find this traditional family owned restaurant in Southampton Row where we could enjoy good food and service at a reasonable price.

We ate here late afternoon whilst staying at a nearby hotel. Our meal was very tasty, and the staff attentive and friendly. We especially enjoyed the bruschetta, it was delicious. My pasta dish was huge, I couldn't eat it all. Next time I think I will order a starter size portion. Recommended.

I ate here one night because it was near to my hotel. The pizza was not bad - rather like the type of pizza you can get in Northern Italy. The house red wine was decent, but certainly not a great value. Worth a visit.

Lovely welcoming and attentive staff. Chose pizza from the menu but it was a bit disappointing, I've had better. There is a good menu so perhaps I just made the wrong choice.

I had lunch here with a group of friends and we enjoyed it very much. It reminded me of small restaurants I've visited when off the tourist trail in Italy, the staff seemed to be one big family, and all took ownership of serving. All were hospitable, appropriately attentive and humorous. The food was good basic Italian fare. My pizza... More

We visited London as a group of 4 and after much deliberation settled on Il Fornello for our dinner, and what an inspired choice it was. It was up there with the best food i have ever eaten and the service was efficient and with a smile. It felt like a really authentic Italian joint, right down to the dessert... More

This place is nice enough, tucked away under loads of scaffolding. The decor is aged but the staff were really friendly. Our food was nice enough and at a reasonable price plus the house red was also quite drinkable. I had bruschetta followed by pizza - the base and crust were especially nice! My wife had in insalata caprese followed... More
