After our diner we went to thank the chef for our delicious pasta and veal milanese and discovered he has been working there for over 30 years hence the great taste of his carefully prepared dishes. Thank you and well done! Good service, delicious food, good italian house wine, antique place. I am glad we went in after the waitress... More

My wife and I had a nice meal and the staff were friendly and helpful and our food was great, however the same cannot be said for the manager, whose attitude when we queried our bill, left a great deal to be desired. Arrogant, poor attitude and rude, which came as a great surprise as this restaurant sits in the... More

We went on Saturday 8th February after reading several positive reviews and we weren't let down. We all had a great meal and the staff were very friendly and efficient. We all had a word to describe the restaurant and these were; authentic, pleasant, filling, genuinely homemade (two words I know!), charming and bellissimo!

I was in the area on business and was going to visit a chinese in the same road however i was tempted by the thought of a pizza. The restaurant has a very authentic Italian feel to it, the waiters were very good even altering the starter for me. I had a pasta with garlic followed by a pizza with... More

The food was ok, though not outstanding, and I appreciated it was opened late and the staff was nice, but the bill was sort of expensive for the quality.

Don't expect The River Cafe or Jamie's Italian. The only concession to trendiness is a 'Focaccia' that is actually a disc of pizza dough with rosemary and garlic. Bloomin' lovely though, as was the immense dish of lasagne verde, that was creamy, meaty and so comforting. We found the service wrm and friendly. All in all, an old fashioned eating... More

What a delightful find! My group of five walked over from Montague on the Gardens. When the extensive menu didn't provide anything of interest for my mother-in-law, the chef graciously accommodated a special request. The service was attentive and friendly. The food rocked!

I'm so sorry that I didn't discover this fantastic place before! It's like being in Rome! Massive portions, delicious homecooked food, very reasonably priced as well. Service is really great too, very italian! Highly reccomended!

When it comes to executing the treasured dishes of Italy, one can find some of the best chefs in many an Italian Restaurant in and around London. Il Fornello in Southampton Row is one of the most popular offering small or large dishes, very conducive to sharing. We were seated near a window giving us ample view of the movement... More
