Took a break from Christmas shopping at the Square with my husband just a few days before Christmas. We have been a few times before and the food has always been stunning. We chose the Christmas Lunch menu and the waiter was very accomodating when we wanted to try the truffle linguine from the main menu. Without fuss and without... More

I came here with my fiance for a special occasion meal, and it did not disappoint. We went with the 9-course tasting menu, and it seemed that each course was better than the last. The favorites included the foie gras, melted mont d'or over poached pear and honey comb (I think I had a foodgasm, if there is such a... More

Howard and his team do a fantastic job. We had a leisurely Saturday lunch...the Sommelier found an excellent Pinot noir to accompany my turbot and his pigeon equally well. The homemade nougat was divine! Formal but not stuffy Attentive service not overbearing Resonate with the comment in another review that it was hard to understand some of the staff. Definitely... Spent a very nice evening here with my wife – really first class service, ambiance and food. A real pleasure and worth the rather hefty bill unlike some others in the locale. Had one of the finest crab dishes for some while, butiful! (I am a Cornishman!) A great Sancerre recommended by the charming sommelier was a nice surprise. The... More

Came here on a Thursday night (18/12/14) for a pre Xmas get together, as usual, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Drinks came very quickly after ordering and the sommelier was his usual efficient self. We opted for the tasting menu and it was excellent. I feel it's found it feet again after the installation of a new head... More

We have eaten at quite a few 2 and 3 star restaurants but never the square so. But we had seen Phil Howarths food on great british menu and his reputation was for great tasting food. A big birthday gave us the opportunity and We were not disappointed. Every mouthful from amuse Bouche to starter to main and pre desert... More

To celebrate my niece's 21st we were taken to this excellent establishment. We had the 9 course tasting menu. It was an absolute delight. So many exciting tastes. The service was immaculate and the private dinning room we were in was very comfortable. Fortunately, I wasn't paying the bill, as I imagine it was probably as expensive as it was... More

I went along to this rather formal establishment and what a treat with inventive and well crafted dishes. The amuse-bouche was a delight on a deconstructed theme of Christmas lunch - turkey jelly, cauliflower puree, biscuit crumbs of stuffing and cranberry - which added up to two teaspoons of the essence of a christmas dinner of all the trimmings, but without...
