This was one of those visits where the only sensible option was the tasting menu – to choose from the carte was proving far too difficult. Though this did free up some time to enjoy the delightful assortment of amuse-bouches and appreciate the vibrant canvasses that adorn the dining room. The starters began with a fine warm salad of artichoke,... More

Had the a la carte. Lasagne of crab was delightful, light , melt in the mouth stuff which is rich and etremely flavourful. Beef with truffle mash was absolutely divine, especially the mash. Dessert was the souffle which was very good. Service attentive and appropriate, although deco could do with some upgrading perhaps. But just a personal opinion.

We ate a 3 course set menu lunch at The Square recently. The food was tasty, from the amuse bouche to the dessert. The wine was very expensive, so even though we were using a gift voucher for the meal we still paid almost £40. I don't know what other drinks they offered other than wine as they only brought... We went to The Square with our friends who are global foodies. They were certainly right about this place. The service was superb. They were always close by yet you never felt hovered over. The menu was very unique and creative. I have the cauliflower starter which sounds mundane but was, in fact, fabulous and interesting. Husband had the crab... More

I have to start with saying that the tasting menu we had at the Square is one of my top three meals in a restaurant. First the food: everything was delicious. The Dorset Crab Lasagna divine. The deer tartare was soft and delicate yet packed with flavours. The fish was cooked to perfection and served in an amazing broth with... More

I visited here with 3 other friends for lunch. We all went for the set menu, with coffee afterwards. The food was absolutely delightful, and the service faultless. When each dish arrived, our waitor was very good at explaining what they were, and always made sure our water was topped up. I had the beef main, which was so tender.... More

A friend and I dined at The Square this week and absolutely enjoyed our dining experience. It was pouring with rain when I arrived very wet & dishevelled where the maitre'd promptly took my coat & soaking wet umbrella while a waiter showed me to our table. The restaurant at 7:30pm was fairly quiet but filled up (although not all... More

Where do I start? I went with my other half for lunch on a Saturday and we both had the set menu (which is exceptionally good value for money!.) The restaurant is sleek and beautiful, whilst still very comfortable and the service is top notch (personal and professional- the perfect combination! They were also very accommodating to my allergies, without... More
