We had the set lunch of 3 courses the largest of which was the desert. Food was a little over-salted for my palate but of very good quality and tasty, sour dough loaf was superb, seafood filled courgette flower and beef good and fig soufflé with ice cream delicious. My amuse bouche was greasy, my dining companions was dry, this... More

I know everyone needs a job, but to fold my napkin up every time I shift in my seat is absurd. I wish that the staff could have served me my food instead of having to wait 40 minutes for the starter after the "amuse bouche" Food was mediocre and over salted. I went to the Square ready for an... More

I was rather bemused by the somewhat vitriolic comments of the 2 reviews posted mid July - I eat regularly at The Square and in Mayfair as well as all over the world. The food is consistently excellent, creative, with the highest quality ingredients (including the tomatoes !) and really attentive but discreet and efficient staff. Sometimes I pay, sometimes... First went here in March as a couple and had a reasonable experience. Dropped a line to the manager following with some gentle observations and got a very nice call from Phil Howard himself. We had a good chat and he appreciated the way in which I'd written, balanced and offering credit where due. He suggested we return in the... More

My Fiancé took me there recently for my birthday, with it being somewhere I had fancied trying for some time and all I can say is it exceeded all of my expectations, it was simply magnificent! The food was to die for, the staff superb, the surroundings lovely and to tap it off, they gave us an autographed menu as... More

I had a business dinner on a Wednesday in July. The restaurant was not nearly as it had been a couple of years ago. The food felt tired along with the waitstaff. I used to rave about The Square, but someone is definitely off.

This is the first visit to the Square. Have wanted to visit for ages. It is a very good restaurant, just not excellent. I cant fault the service and the food is great....despite others criticizing portion size I was happy. Maybe it lacks a bit of atmosphere and with 2 stars you expect something very special. I have eaten at... More

I order a dish of salad. They served it cold but it was not bad. I recommend to come this place to eat.

Cold tomatoes, advertised as heirloom , what a joke. You would get a better meal at the corner pub. This restaurant needs to get out of the seventies and update the atmosphere. The portions very tiny. , the taste very poor. Over salted, cold? In ripe tomatoes, the whole meal was lacking in any professional chef. A huge disappointment .... More
