Great calzone but shame about the cold tomato sauce!

Me and my cousin booked for a table for 6pm here on a Friday night and little did I know that the place is pretty empty on a friday night - no idea why. Perhaps the location put people off as its down a darkly lit road off the main street? My cousin was 30 minutes late and the waiters... read more

We were informed as we arrived that there was no pizza in this pizzeria! The restaurant is in a backstreet and even on a Friday evening, was not busy. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and it has a retro Italian atmosphere and decor. There was a good choice on the menu, the portions were substantial and the food... More

Had planned on eating here one evening during stay and ended up eating three times.Down a quiet street but becomes very popular later in the evening.Food was outstanding,as we tried pastas, pizza(wonderful)as well as starters and desserts. We were welcomed by staff warmly the first night and like family on the second and third evenings, and they even remembered that we were leaving... Great restaurant, excellent food and service. Drinks reasonably priced. Large serves. We had rigatoni with a tomato sauce and a cream sauce. Both delicious. Would go back.

Loved this place! Tucked in a back street it felt like a gem of a find. The decor is cool, retro Italian. The service was great and the food excellent. Really big portions, which is not important to me but gave a real sense of a hearty Italian family feel. Loved it. It is tiny so go for a small... More

Four of us ate an early supper here a couple of Fridays ago. It was fairly quiet to begin with but soon started to fill up, the staff were friendly, helpful, suggesting both food and wine and had a great sense of fun! The pizzas are amazing, I seldom eat them but they looked so good I went for it...so... More

Friendly staff, massive portions, great Montepulciano. The pizzas are huge and you must try the seafood linguine. You can't do any better than La Porchetta.

Just a short block down Boswell St, near the busy intersection of Southampton Way and Theobald Street, this is a great find. The pastas were excellent and the service was attentive as well. If you're tired of "chain" restaurants and tourist traps and want a reasonably priced, high quality Italian dinner or lunch, La Porchetta is the place.

Brilliant service from a knowledgeable and attentive waiter. Starter of tomato garlic bread was outstanding as was the pizza I had. My friend had seafood pasta and it was delicious and presented in a foil swan! We had the tiramisu to finish and it was also excellent.
