Living in the local vicinity I visited this place a few years ago with a group and left extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. Difficult to imagine they one an award for excellence in 2007 - obviously a group who have completely different taste buds to us. Despite the very average food you could not fault their service... My husband is from Sri Lanka and we've gone a few times to Elephant Walk before with friends. My husband because it is one of the few Sri Lankan restaurants in London. I don't know why people say it isn't authentic - such as the person who wrote that you don't get curry with biryani... obviously he's never been to... More

Simply the blandest, most monochrome curry I've ever eaten - expensive too - 12ukp for an abomination of a biriani. Not authentic, simply dreadful and - despite some charming and willing service - completely without merit. We ordered several dishes - including the house specialities. All very, very poor and under seasoned - the chicken used was powery and dry (frozen?)... More

My wife and I have eaten a lot of South indian and Sri-Lankan food over the years and know authentic food when we see it. The elephant walk claims to provide authentic sri-lankan food....this is not the case. The food is bland, onion skin in our food; we ordered King prawn biriani, we received some coloured rice with a few... More

Visited on a very quiet night and the service was very attentive; the restaurant was cold so the manager ensured he positioned a heater on us to warm us up! My friend and I are both vegetarians and found the veg choice on the menu a little limiting, but managed to order some nice side dishes to make up enough... More

Tonight was my first and last visit to the Elephant Walk. I had high hopes but I left really disappointed. The service was friendly but not particularly attentive. The food was Ok but the portions were insultingly tiny. 3 tiny pieces of chicken doesn't constitute a main course by anyone's estimation. The prices appear reasonable, they would be if the portions... Great food, cosy atmosphere, friendly waiters. A place to revisit. I can recommend the masala dosai for starters (big enough to share).
