We had a reservation for lunch at 2pm. As soon as we got there we were taken to our table on the second floor, a lovely seat by the window overlooking the nice Columbia Road Flower Market. All the staff were very nice, and the meal was brought very soon to our table. Everything was perfect, from the delicious roast... More

I visited with friends on Sunday and I must say I was super impressed. We sat in the upstairs dining room and we all had the roast sirloin beef. I couldnt fault anything. I think possibly the best roast I have ever eaten...and I have eaten a few. I am going to find it hard not to dine there every... More

Rude staff who allow their young children to run around the bar kicking a football - more of a crèche than a pub! Not relaxing at all. Also not cheap.

Staff are rude and unfriendly. Food is ok but very expensive. Recently turned into a crèche for very young unruly children, playing football in the bar - not a way to relax after a hard week at work, trying unwind for the weekend and enjoy a drink or two.

We visited with a group of friends for Sunday lunch. The food was great - we all had different roasts, including the veggie option, and everything was lovely. But we waited ages (over 40 minutes) for our food to appear (and when it's a carvery that shouldn't happen). It was worth the wait but the wait still detracted from the... More

Visited this pub/restaurant recently and had an absolutely fabulous time. We had pre-ordered the roast lamb and it was so delicious, very moist and tasty and the best roast potatoes ever. Also I don't know what they did with the carrots but they were really yummy. There was such a fun atmosphere and the staff were brilliant. The whole experience... More

I went there with a friend of mine on a Friday night. We sat downstairs as we were not eating until later and wanted to enjoy the buzzin atmosphere of after Friday drinks in this East London pub. It was fun, vibrant and very busy which I like. We had butchers pate to start and then steak and burger. The... More

Wow!! I went here on Sunday with a big group of friends. My husband and I have been before and have raved about it to our friends and this was the first opportunity to take them all. They were not disappointed. They loved everything from the buzzing bar downstairs to the quieter but yet atmospheric upstairs restaurant. We all order... More

I had the good fortune to go to the Royal Oak with a group of friends and the food and atmosphere was fantastic. There were a group opposite who highly added to the dining experience and buzzing atmosphere by entertaining themselves and other diners with a good sing song which other diners encouraged. The food was wonderful - we could... More
