The cheery blue and white interior makes for a relaxed eating environment, with customers bustling around the traditional fish counter and specials handwritten on the chalkboards. I had dinner with a friend last week at this restaurant for the first time. Interesting entrance...fishmonger display with all sorts of fresh fish on display. The fishy smell does not permeate into the restaurant though as it is separate. We ordered a variety of oysters as a starter which were presented beautifully and came with some lovely accompaniments. There are many fish restaurants, but few good ones. I am happy to say that this one fits into the latter category. Located in a vibrant part of London the restaurant reflects this in its décor, lively and friendly staff and excellent food. Good range of fish, and not just the usual favorites, in particular the smoked Haddock was excellent,... More

A seafood lovers paradise with oysters, scallops and a large range of fish including excellent dover sole. Recommend the scallops starter. Service was very good and the an excellent wine list supported the food. Definitely go again.

We turned up without a reservation on a busy weekday evening - but the maitre d' helpfully organised a table for us. We had a number of different seafood dishes, including prawns with vodka and Dover Sole, all delicious and served up by a very friendly and efficient team. An excellent restaurant.

This was my third visit in six months and I feel I owe it a review. First, it is consistent. Second, it is consistently good. For a fish-lover, one is spoiled for choice. Shellfish and fresh catch of all types, cooked in a variety of ways, all with good execution. Fresh fish is not cheap, and if you go for... More

My boyfriend and I had dinner on a Friday night a few weeks ago having wanted to try this restaurant for a while. The food was very well cooked from the salmon starter and the scallops and we were even more blown away by the mains. My lobster linguine was amazing just the right amount of garlic in the sauce... This was a great find ... lovely fish dishes, with interesting sides and good wines. It's not cheap (for someone from the North) but it is worth the money.

Enthusiastic and friendly greeting by host on arrival, with whom we had an amusing exchange as to what was covered by 50% off meal deal. Otherwise wait staff were efficient if not hugely personable. Prawn cocktail (starter) - Acceptable, neither bad nor mind-blowing. Skipper's Ocean Grill (main) - Sea Bass and Sea Bream completely over-cooked and as a result did... More

Three of us dropped in for an early Friday evening meal and from the outset the staff were warm, friendly and humourous - especially and outstandingly, Simona, our Lithuanian waitress who couldn't do enough when helping us choose our meal and transformed what would have been a quiet affair into a bundle of laughs that spread to adjacent tables. Staying in Marylebone

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
