Taro is a tried and tested favourite of mine in Soho, I've been going for almost ten years. its fresh clean authentic Japanese food at a very reasonable price. You don't need to book in advance but it does get crazy busy during lunch and dinner time. The Benito boxes are fabulous, I love the chicken terakki box and sushi... More

We went there twice this week, the first time for just sushi which was fine had a few pieces £35 - seemed a lot since we didn't even have a beer. Went back end of the week as food looked nice, but chicken katsu bland and so was salmon teryaki. VERY average, and disappointing. Asked for a second beer never... More

Had a nice simple and well priced dinner at the Soho branch. Had a bento box which was generous with their portion size. They were accommodating when I had a specific request to not put wasabi in the sushi when it was stated that modifications couldn't be made. Would visit again.

Excellent sushi and sashimi. Bustling when we were there for lunch on an early September weekday, but not noisy. Efficient service. £110 for four for piles of food plus beer seemed reasonable.

This is an easy style restaurant with tasty and affordable - classic Japanese food. The owner is from Kumamoto, Kyushu, Japan so, the meals are certainly authentic. Hot Sake, a wide variety of dishes and, very pleasant staff. Its a winner for solo dining or, groups.

Good hot delicious food served slickly and for a reasonable cost. Good choice of beers and wine. There is nothing fancy about this place and it soon got very busy. The teriyaki chicken ramen was excellent, but the only down side is the food does not all come in order or together. I will be going back again to try... More

I've visited Mr Taro's two restaurants in Soho no less than a hundred times but I moved out of London some time ago and it had been over a year since I last eat there. The food continues to be agreeable and, although the cooks are not Japanese (or even asian in some cases), the two restaurants are frequented by... More
