Excellent value Japanese food!

For those who remember Sakura (which was in Hanover Square before moving to Conduit street and then shut down), this restaurant is probably the best replacement. The foods are always prepared to a high standard and the staff are always friendly and efficient, although the place is quite tight. This... read more

Had a good meal in relaxed and comfortable surroundings. All the dishes were god particularly the eel. Everyone enjoyed very reasonable price for a Japanese restaurant in London

Every time my wife and I go to Soho we always eat at this restaurant. We find it great value for money and relatively quick service. It can get busy at times so don't be surprised that you may have to squeeze in or wait a bit to be seated. It's nothing fancy but it's good menu. We have no... More

Positive: great taste, attentive staffs, great portion of food, good price, very central and 5 mins walk from Piccadilly tube, good vibe all around. Constructive feedback: restaurant floor can be a bit cleaner.

I've been going to Taro's for ages – mostly for shared starters (the gyoza dumplings are delicious) and almost every time I opt for the Chirashi Sushi – a mix of beautifully fresh fish (incl octopus) on tasty sticky rice. What makes Taro such a great place is its owner, Mr Taro himself, who can be spotted in the Brewer Street location... More

We stumbled upon this place after walking around craving for ramen and it just so happened to serve that at a reasonable price with most bowls £8-£9. I ordered the pork Ramen and husband ordered the miso ramen, both came as very generous serving sizes and both amazingly delicious. I would say that a few things that would improve our... More

Our company has ordered at this restaurant a lot of times. First time I dealt personnaly with the order and everything was perfect. Got great lunch for everyone, plus extras we didn't expect (miso soup on the house, extras meal box). Really happy. And of course, it goes without saying, the food was excellent as usual.

We ate in the basement, but it's not some pokey, poorly lit basement - natural light floods in through the huge atrium above. Of course this also means you can clearly see how much the decor is in need of a refresh, but that aside, the food is great, the portions are generous, the staff smiley and the prices very... More

I visited with friends a couple of weeks ago. We enjoyed the food which is hearty and good value - but didn't blow our socks off. The service was appalling though. Our drinks order was wrong and all the food came at different times. I ordered a side of vegetable dumplings which failed to materialise at all, even after I... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
