Fantastic food, idiotic staff

Have seen a few of the Japanese restaurant's branches several times and they always looked authentic and like they would serve a good food. That was all from outside observations and today I decided to finally go in. I have no regrets at all about the food, the genuine Japanese taste and fantastic... read more

I visited with friends a couple of weeks ago. We enjoyed the food which is hearty and good value - but didn't blow our socks off. The service was appalling though. Our drinks order was wrong and all the food came at different times. I ordered a side of vegetable dumplings which failed to materialise at all, even after I... More

Always enjoy the great value food but the restaurant is looking very dirty and is in need of a lick of paint and a good clean. It's a fast food joint, so great for a quick meal.

Nice Japanese restaurant with a good selection of Japanese food. Menu is extensive and has a touch of the "Izakaya" to it. Sushi was pretty good and the Ramen just like you get in Japan.. Staff could do with some training in customer service.

If you want good traditional Japanese cooking that doesn't try to be clever, doesn't pretend to be something more fanciful that it is and always provide an honest fulfilling meal, then what are you waiting for. This is the place. I've been here many times, but I've never been disappointed and always leave happy. The only reason I've not given... More

Very good quality Japanese food, authentic and fresh! I quite liked the restaurant's atmosphere; it resembled an authentic and traditional type of Japanese restaurant. Staff was wearing traditional outfits and was very friendly. Service was very quick. A very good value for money choice if you are looking for quick and fresh food in Soho!

Have been here 3 times now, and it is always pretty nice. I like it that it's very simple, yet the food is decorated and served in style and portions are big. The prices of the food are pretty low, especially for this area. Service all 3 times however has been different, going from very good to not so good,... More

We were very tired, almost skipped dinner because we didn't find a place to eat. But then we passed by Taro and decided to get in after we saw how many people were inside at 22:30 at night.. It was quick and very good, exactly what we needed. The ramen soup with sea fruit was amazing, just like in Tokio!!!... More

I've been eating here for 15 years. The Chicken Teriyaki Don is the most perfect meal you could wish for. Start with some Edamame and Gyoza to share. If you're feeling really hungry have the mixed sushi too. Two will eat for £40 and will struggle to finish it all. This is amazing food, prepared by craftsmen.

Came here with a friend in April on a Saturday evening, very close to the kitchen closing time. The waitress was really nice about it and welcomed us in with smiles. It was my first time here so I went safe and had the Chicken Teridon (Teriyaki and rice). The teriyaki chicken was amazing! It was very filling and had... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
