Somehow became starved in that weird time between lunch and dinner time, luckily Taro was open! We were the only ones there and received attentive service. Wide variety on the menu, my friend and I both opted for a soup as it was freezing outside. Our starter of vege goyzer came out just a bit delayed but otherwise the miso... More

The food is great even if slightly expensive, but the experience is not great at all. I went on my own and they made me seat on a stool facing the sushi counter and other people sometimes sit beside you. I must admit that I was tempted to go elsewhere but I stayed. I almost didn't have room to move... More

I met a few friends a couple of Saturdays ago to have lunch in this restaurant. The food was very nice, considering Japanese food in London is not always that good. My friends ordered Bento boxes and I had an assorted Sushi plate. The only downside was that they brought our food at different times so my friends were halfway... More

I used to eat at Taro's other branch in Old Compton Street, the other end of Soho. As I worked nearby this was a great lunch restaurant. The Brewer Street brunch I believe is the original and there is nothing between them in terms of the food. The interior of Old Compton Street is much more pleasant. This is great... More

Enjoyed the katsu curry and chicken teriyaki (double chicken portion). But was not the best I've had. Would say this place is good for a quick lunch when in town and feeling peckish for some Japanese food. Service is swift but with no added bells and whistles. Prices are also reasonable so would return once in a while!

Ok...reality check. Taro is the ideal place for the budgeters out there...me included! For the price, the portion sizes are great but what's the deal with this restaurant? GOOD: Getting a table at Taro is relatively easy compared to other restaurants in Soho. Does that mean that no wants to eat there? No but it's more of a Japanese cafe... More

Had the spicy ramen. They are not very expensive but you can ask for extra chilli. It was packed on Monday evening but the food arrives very fast. Price was mid range. Had a ramen for 7.90 Pounds.

Really busy Friday night before Christmas - excellent, efficient, friendly service. Great bowl of ramen and fun bento box. Kids loved it. Queues outside so try and book!

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
