Description: This Smith Street pub, running directly south off Kings Road, once a hang-out of young trend followers, is now a regular haunt of the locals. They love the warm cosy atmosphere, not to mention the delightful menu that is refreshingly changed every week. Equally busy at lunch and dinner, The Phoenix takes bookings for both meals, or even if you just fancy a snack and a drink, you are welcome to come in. To the back of the pub is the dining room, where you can book a table for two or twenty and confidently expect to receive the same attentive service throughout the pub, no matter how large your group. Stan, the chef of The Phoenix, has been with Geronimo for many years and will be happy to serve up a selection of traditional British dishes for you.

This place has changed in the 15 years since I visited it last. It has become more of a gastropub than pub. Having said that we enjoyed our meal and found the service friendly and the food tasty.

As this is my local, I should probably not be advertising how great it is for fear of never again being able to get a reservation. But I have to give credit. This is a truly cosy, warm and comfortable pub with an extremely welcoming staff - including the 'always cheerful' manager, Mark. One can eat in the relaxed bar... More

The food was painfully average. The kidneys, virtually inedible. Guinea fowl over seasoned. Perhaps if fish and chips had not run out, would not have been so disappointed. Nice atmosphere though.

Relatively new pub. The pub food was fine and tasty. The service was fine. Would consider going back.

I just ate here at the weekend with friends having been a loyal customer for some years. It was one of the most embarrassingly tragic experiences I have ever had in a pub. Our table was reserved for 1.30. We ordered at 2 and the starters arrived at 3. The mains arrived at 3.45 and the roast chicken was dry... More

Light late lunch. Chipolatas in honey and mustard very good indeed. French chardonnay very pleasant. Smiling, cheerful service.

After spending a happy couple of hours at Chelsea Physic Garden, we found the Phoenix for a late lunch. The staff were very friendly, the menu much better than the other pubs in the area. The food was beautifully presented and flavoursome. Inside was light and airy. There is a large bar eating area and a separate more formal eating... More

£7.95 for 4 slices of cheese, imaginatively contrived from 2 varieties- sums the place up, A couple of different ales- from The same old Gironimo Inns stock list, comfortable and clean, but lacking both personality and individuality, This also applies to 'the surprise' and 'the builders arms' If you want something more original in the area, head to the Sydney... Barnaby and I visited after going to the National Army Museum, the beer was in great condition and Geronimo have a habit of providing interesting guest beers. I tried two, which were in excellent condition, Barnaby enjoyed his steak sandwich and declared it was delicious. I had a starter, which was a delicious salad. It is hard to find seats... More

My partner and I stopped by The Phoenix pub on a Saturday in March while shopping near King's Road. We're big fans of Geronimo Inn pubs so we were keen to give this one a try. It is a great location and is well set up with dedicated drinking and dining areas. The menu looked very good but when we... More
