Description: Rick's Restaurant is Tooting's first and only Modern British and Modern...
Rick's Restaurant is Tooting's first and only Modern British and Modern European restaurant. Owned by Rick Gibbs, former Head Chef at the Chelsea Arts Club, this cosy and intimate dining establishment, previously known as Rick's Cafe, prides itself with the Tooting Community Good Neighbour Award and the Taste of Tooting Best Restaurant Award. With a daily changeable menu and open plan kitchen it is a real treat for any fan of Modern Spanish, English, French, Italian, Mediterranean and other Modern European cuisines, as well as for those seeking a classic British brunch, lunch or dinner. Whether it's been for business or pleasure, adults or children, vegetarian or meat lovers, Rick's unpretentious yet utterly delicious cooking has brought a fresh and unique eating out experience to the area, receiving the highest praise from critics and customers alike. As Rick uses only the freshest produce the only thing in his freezer is ice cream. Naturally, the lunch and dinner menus change daily, reflecting what is in season and what has just come off the boat or is locally available. However, old favourites like Rump or Rib-Eye Steak with hand-cut Chips & Chilli Jam and Sticky Toffee Pudding loyally remain. Favourite with diners are the artisan produced Spanish hams, French cheeses, Irish oysters, Shetland mussels, Crème brûlée and other homemade desserts. The Wine List boasts a great selection of Spanish wines with splashes of French, Italian, South African and South American at prices that won't break the bank.Eating at Rick’s Restaurant is like being a guest in Rick’s own home. He loves to be hands-on in the restaurant and will always take the time to talk to his guests, inviting them into the kitchen or sitting with them at their table to have a glass of wine or two. Essentially, Rick’s Restaurant provides comfort food with substance and intelligence without frills.

Yum

A delightfuly ecceletic range of dishes from paella to roasted beef. I had the full English and was surprised to find both black pudding and a tomato on my plate alongside the usual breakfast fayre (sausage, toast etc). The bill was provided swiftly but written on a piece of paper rather than... read more

Been here many times for lunch and dinner, but today had brunch too! Rick is always very welcoming and friendly. Brunch was great, we ordered slightly off menu, but it wasn't a problem (when you just know what you fancy!) so had fresh oj, eggs and Serrano ham on toast - was supposed to be bacon which was perfect for... Really enjoyed my visit here, had the tapas (three dishes for £10!) and all were lovely, great deal. Service was really friendly and great wine too. Definitely will be back.

A group of us went on Monday for Spanish night. We were greeted by Annie, always smiling and friendly. Olives, balsamic vinegar in oil and delicious bread on the table then a whole raft of superb tapas ranging from Chorizo and white bean stew to prawns and aoili, croquettes, chargrilled vegetables with feta, hake stuffed pimentos....to name but a few The... Always enjoy the food here, especially the specials. Really cosy atmosphere, bit cramped but always buzzing and full. Rick and his team are very friendly. Happily recommend.

It was great to revisit Rick’s after a long absence and in the meantime it has only improved! Excellent, friendly service by Rick, who many years ago was head chef at The Chelsea Arts Club, so you expect him to know how to cook and serve excellent food. You will not be disappointed. The pork, Serrano ham & apricot terrine... More

Great food and host in Rick! Small menu ensures it's always fresh and tasty, often specials not on the menu too! Good atmosphere too, cosy tables and great service

I'd heard such wonderful things about Rick's but when I finally got around to going, I was pretty disappointed. The service was terrible - we were overlooked, I had to ask for the menu and to order drinks. The food and drinks were completely over-priced. I had the white-wine mussels and they were totally flavourless. So disappointing because it looks... More
