Very good dim sum

Third time i am having dim sum at the Lotus. The view is really nice in the area and chinese families queueing for a table is a sign of quality. If i would say one thing: i would expect more soup in the xia long bao

Authentic Chinese food in Canary Wharf. At first we had hesitation as floating restaurants in other part of the world are not known for serving good food. But this one isn't. Good food and good portion that will satisfy your stomach. Pretty decent wine list too. We went to this place twice in three days. It's that good.

Had a meal here Saturday night and the food was excellent. Possibly the restaurant could do with a bit of a revamp. It does not seem to stop people going there as it was full most of the time we was there with 2-3 sittings probably that evening.

Booked 2 months in advance. Glad I did. Chinese New Year. Was packed. People waiting an hour or more. Chinese families all around so knew it would be good. Great service great food. 3 of us ate with wine and drinks ink tip £85. Excellent value great location. Best crispy duck I have had in a long time. Well worth... More

Had a fab night out with some good friends... We were a large party of twenty so expected a few issues as it is always difficult to please everyone. However food was fantastic. Could not believe we had mains to go when we had appetisers, starters, and duck (which was excellent). Main took quite a while but as we were... More

The Lotus was amazing visited on a week night and had booked a table in advance, was quiet busy turn over of customers whilst we were there. We had the set menu which was so much more than expected and ended up taking most of the main away with us as it was too much to eat but too good... More

My friend suggested we check this out for Dim Sum as we were in Canary Wharf. I thought it was a bit cheesy, trying to emulate the Jumbo floating restaurant in Aberdeen, HK, but I was really pleasantly surprised at the taste and value that Lotus offered. It's just down the water from South Quays DLR station, so is very... More

We tried this place once for dinner. I liked the idea of a floating restaurant and didn't mind the strange old looking interior. The staff was friendly and the food was fine. Their style is more like the 70s-80s family style Chinese restaurants with the flavors modified to fit the palette of the locals. our dishes were a bit too... More

You'll be surprised to learn that the prices of dim sum here is more expensive than that in China Town, Leicester Square. I really enjoyed the meal here, I suppose the more expensive dim sum pays for the views over the Quay, the swans and moorhens and mallards are great company. The food itself is actually quite nice, and there... More

We have visited this restaurant on several occasions now and enjoyed it every time. It is my 7 year old granddaughter's favourite and both she and her little brother enjoy the informal friendly environment and the food. I notice that a lot of reviews talk about ordering too much Dim Sum and we are no exception, but we never have... More
