Description: If romance is in the cards, London's most romantic restaurant is Covent...
If romance is in the cards, London's most romantic restaurant is Covent Garden's multi award-winning Clos Maggiore. Echoing the charming country inns of Provence and Tuscany, the warmly muted decor, low lighting and welcoming log fire were clearly designed with love in mind. The skylight is surrounded with twining, flower-starred branches to resemble an Italianate courtyard, a delightful faux-rural treat in the city centre. Seasonally inspired classic French cuisine coupled with impeccable service is the order of the day at Clos Maggiore restaurant, with a focus on chic presentation and bold flavours. The range of menus include a six-course "tasting menu" featuring such dishes as "Seared Wild Scallops, Ratte Potato & Winter Truffle" and "Pan Roasted Fillet of Cornish Cod, Olive Oil & Basil Pomme Puree". In addition Clos Maggiore serves a reasonably priced, regularly changing set lunch and pre-theatre menus. To find the perfect complement Clos Maggiore's extensive cellar includes over 2500 labels and was extended earlier this year to include an additional 400 wines at a low - mid price range. They have recently been awarded the "The Grand Wine Award 2014" by the Wine Spectator - one of only 70 restaurants worldwide to receive this accolade. Clos Maggiore has been voted in the "Top Ten" categories for "Best French Restaurants", "Best Ambiance" and "Special Occasion Restaurants" by opentable. Toptable lists Clos Maggiore as one of the most highly rated dining venues in London and Square Meal lists Clos Maggiore as one of the best restaurants with Private Rooms.

I loved our visit at Clos Maggiore. We had a lovely table, perhaps one of the best. I much appreciated it as this was a very special occasion for me and my partner. We opted for the tasting menu with additional portion of rabbit. The rabbit was very nice as well as the fish. However, the rest of the food... More

Our expectations were high - was pitched to us by a concierge service as the most romantic restaurant in London. Not sure about. Food is good traditional French food (although the deserts were a bit weird and we passed). Wine list very good. Staff mainly ok - although we were never really sure who was taking care of us. So... My wife and I have eaten at Le Gavroche and Gordon Ramsay’s on Royal Hospital Road. While the decor and ambiance were not in the same class at Clos Maggiore, the food certainly was. We were able to select courses from the tasting menu and the ala cart menu. This resulted in a perfect mix of locally sourced ingredients, elegant... More

Was recommended to this restaurant and I have to say, I am so pleased we listened. We were offered a table downstairs and the restaurant is magical. The food was simply divine and I coudnt fault it in any way and I can highly recommend the Wagyu!! My only issue was that I couldn't cork a bottle of wine that... More

My husband and I recently celebrated his birthday in Clos Maggiore and unfortunately it does not precede it's reputation. I was able to get a table at the conservatory known for being one the most romantic places to dine in London, and although I thought the room was pleasant I didn't find it so romantic with the fake flowers. We... More

We booked a table for 2 late evening after a trip to the Opera. We requested to be seated in the flower ceiling room and though a table was not available in that section of the restaurant on our arrival we were moved there as soon as a table did become free. I must say, the room is rather special... More

We visited here last week as a belated Mothers Day treat, what a treat it was! Pre drinks in the lounge area then we were led to our table under the famous ornate ceiling. Parfait & Quail to start followed by Monkfish for mains. All cooked perfectly. Service was professional at all times and we were made to feel very... More

I have been here twice now and find it wonderful. Beautiful setting, lovely food, attentive table service and the set lunch menu is great value for money. Booked the table a couple of days before and it was hassle free. Great top end dining.
