Incredibly busy everywhere; we were lucky to get in without queuing; fast, very friendly and attentive service, working well as a team... coffee was excellent and very well priced.

Nice lunchtime visit whilst in London. Very busy. Took a long time to seat us although we had booked. Service slow (mainly because it was so busy). I had one of the salads and it was very small and had far too much dressing which spoilt it. Disappointed as have visited before to this branch and also to Bath and... More

Busy restaurant with a lovely friendly welcoming feel. Great value set menu but we picked from the full menu. I had a MASSIVE portion of calamari with a griddled fresh lemon and some mayo with possibly paprika. Worth every penny. Delicious, tender and lovely and crispy on the outside. My wife had the salad niciose which was fab. House wine... More

I have been to a few Carluccios now in Stratford on Avon, Berkhamstead, Lincoln and now a London one and it was only last week that I found out the owner is the greedy Italian from my Saturday kitchen show that runs on BBC1 every Saturday 10-11.30am. I love that show watching two experienced Italian chefs making mushroom pasta dishes... More

It was very good as we expected. The waiter and waitress were very friendly and the other diners seemed very happy and there was a great atmosphere.

I order tortellini and as a man that eats much, I was expecting something to make me feel full. What I got was a dish around 10 (maximum) pieces. Of course i didn't order anything else, as this was already expensive. Also, make sure you don't go in peak times as you have to wait for a table.

I am always happy with Carluccio’s restaurants and this one was no exception. To me it is more than an ordinary chain restaurant; it has more character and nice and relaxed atmosphere. Of course, when you're in Italy, local restaurants there are incomparable with those in London. My son and I had a dinner here. I arrived just before 5pm... More

The staff are working hard for tips here, which is fine, but it shows a little too much in that when they are being nice to you, they aren't really. We chose from the fixed price menu at three courses for £22.00 for lunch. I had goats cheese on aubergine with a tomato sauce which was simple but very tasty,... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
