Carluccio's was one of my favourite chain restaurants in the past, however that all changed when I was here a few weeks ago. Went here on the weekend with partner. After a 30 min queue which to be fair isn't their fault, we were sat down. Service was great but the food was just poor. No flavour. No seasoning on the tables either. We were misled by the '£13.99' on the window for 2 courses but realised our dishes are not part of... More

One lunch time, a couple of weeks ago I was absolutely starving and in a rush, I popped into Carluccio's, waiting about 5 minutes for someone to get me a table, was seated and ordered a soup and a bottle of still water. The 'pancetta and mushroom' soup arrived, and looked like dirty water. I thought I'd give it a... More

We visited Carlucciou's last week on two occasions. It is located at South Kensington and is a short cab fare from Central London. We had two tables on the window each time which was great for people watching. The menu was extensive and very reasonably priced and the service prompt and friendly. My Daughter and I loved the atmosphere as... More

Why surprisingly? I think sometimes chains do disappoint and and not been in any Carluccios for quite a while following a very ordinary experience. However, this was very good. A busy early Friday evening, packed out but made to feel welcome and was show speedily to a table for two. We chose the winter menu, a stew which was excellent... More

We cannot fault the staff here since they are friendly and are always working hard with the number of covers, especially at lunch times where there is often a queue for a table. We have been here many times, but the food we had on this visit was over-salty and very average: my risotto had very little taste and was... More

South Kensington Carluccios is opposite South Kensington station , the map is wrong ! We had mushroom and bacon soup with focaccia very tasty , venison tortelloni very tasty, good cheeses with quality biscuits - the bill for 3 with tapwater and no wine around £60 - good value with good friendly service. When it is busy be prepared to... More

After work I really needed to relax so my friend and I decided to go to Carluccio's. .. I've been there a few times already for breakfast (eggs florentine and scrambled eggs with mushroom on toast are my favourites) but somehow I never was happy with the service. Most of them are very rude, blue and moody. Last time the... More

Have visited other branches of Carluccio's before but this was our first time here which, judging by the layout and decor must be relatively new or recently refurbished. The service was very good with friendly attentive staff. The menu is ok and the wine list very good - try the Montepulciano D'Abruzzo. A good place to dine if you want... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
