family trip to London including mum with gluten allergy

Fab restaurant great food reasonably priced and cooked fresh lobster spaghetti I had was £16 but far superior to the greasy stir fry I paid £20 for at the rainforest cafe the previous day! Mum had a wide selection from the gluten free menu. The only slight criticism was that they didn't do pizzas... read more

This is a lovely restaurant which seemed to have lots of staff that weren't able to organise themselves very well. The service was indifferent, not very polite, and overall lacking. The service was slow and when I asked for mayonnaise I had to ask three times to actually get it. The food was lovely as always but the waiting staff... More

After walking around Kensington a friend and I stopped in for dinner, they had a great menu and beer selection. The waiter was very attentive and drinks came promptly with bread. I ordered Venison Ravioli and my friend had Pasta Funghi very good portions with a great flavor, the side dishes were a bit small but I did not mind my... More

On arrival there was a long queue waiting for a table but we were assured it would be ten minutes and it was. What we weren't expecting was a wait of almost an hour for our food to arrive once we had ordered it. We had finished our drinks and had to ask three times for some water before it... More

We were meeting family in London and had booked for eight of us, including kids. We absolutely loved it, the value menu of two courses for £10.95 was amazing value and we would highly recommend it. The kids menu was fantastic, with lots of choice. The homemade Italian icecream was yummy. However, there was a bit of upselling going on,... More

I stay in this area a lot for work and sometimes need to strike outside the hotel. Carluccio's is very near and given my love of Italian food I probably eat there a few times a year. Food is decent enough (not the best Italian food) but ingredients are good and some dishes can really deliver. The menu of the... More

I fainted and felt ill in the heat yesterday. The staff were kind, caring and helpful while I lay down feeling ill for an hour. They looked after me and I never felt that I was in the way or a nuisance. They rang for medical help, and answered their questions for me. They rang my husband and cancelled the... More

The Carluccio's is a decent choice for a quick diner. I had the bruschetta and pasta from the set menu. Both were good, although this won't fill you if you are really hungry. Other people complained about the noise. We ate by the little Italian groceries corner, so we were a bit isolated from the main dining room. I did... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
