Early lunch - the restaurant was not even half full but the staff seemed too busy with each other to look after the customers. The food was very average and the calamari greasy, distinctly chewy and not very hot but the waiter wasn't bothered. By the time the second cup of tepid coffee had been sent back we'd really given... A group of us arrived at 1pm on Sunday to find a queue for tables. A manager (wasn't in a uniform so I presume so) informed us that it would be a 20 minute wait for a table which was too long, at which point we were about to leave until our kids were given breadsticks to munch on. As... More

Situated just opposite the Tube station and a few mins walk from the Science, Natural & V&A museums this is a great place to come for good quality meal. We went for the fixed price 2 course menu. Carlucci's always manages to provide good quality food for a reasonable price. We had considered having Lunch at the V&A but would... More

We ate here last Saturday. it was stacked out but only a small wait for the table. (Only downsides I felt was that there are too many tables so you do sit very closely with others and the loos need updating) Staff very friendly We shared garlic focaccia with cheese to start and the pasta trio - we picked mushroom,... So not eat here, staff are friendly but the food is appalling. Calamari starter bland and calamari is previously frozen, to make it worse it had freezer burn. Seafood linguine was worse, pasta not cooked, tasteless and half the mussels were closed. However manager after one mouthful took it back. Given the experience I asked for the bill, I was... More

All was great. Service was fast and nice, food was delicious. Have nice selection of wines, and you can get a glass of wine, and that is great. Highly recommended.

My friends and I had lunch there. Quickly got seated, great service and attention. I ordered the set menu and when the starter was out, they allowed me to replace it with mushroom soup from outside the set menu for no extra charge. I had the fried chicken breast, which was quite good. My friend on the other hand for... More

Nice pasta, service was quick. Food was hot but plates were cold which is the only criticism. Staff were friendly. Not too pricey.

We went for a two course menu at £10.99. We both had the chicken liver pate to start which was pretty good. For the mains we had a couple of different pastas. These were fine if a little underwhelming. The wine is reasonably priced and decent quality. The restaurant was busy but the service was slick and efficient which is... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
