Nice food but service was slow

Varied selection on food, the risotto was really nice. Affordable prices, especially with their student discount. Took ages to get served though.

My first visit to Cafe Rouge and I ordered the full English breakfast @ £8.50 as part of the deal with Ibis. The sausage was good, the bacon and scrambled eggs were OK but they were all served on a cold plate so by the time I got it everything was tepid at best. Spoke to the "French" waiter who... More

My friend and I had lunch here. We had such a good experience, the service was faultless and the food was both tasty and well prepared. We spent a coupple of hours here, and at no point did we feel that we were being rushed, or that we were on a time limit, unlike some other establishments. The facilities were... More

We didn't book for our early evening visit and just squeezed in - obviously busy early as it eased later on. The food choices are mouthwatering and our dishes lived up to our expectations - they were delicious. Nice atmosphere and good service. Not a party place but you cannot go wrong visiting this restaurant if you're looking for really... More

While in Greenwich for work, thought I would try here for lunch. It was quite full so thought it must be ok. How wrong I was! Thought it was pricey, but I ordered or should I say tried to order first Sprite, to which the waiters said lemonade, which I tried to clarify if it was Sprite or other brand... More

First time visiting Cafe Rouge anywhere and we had breakfast. The staff were polite and took our order quickly. Drinks arrived as ordered as did our full english breakfast. I've had worse meals but also much better. The food had obviously been sitting under a heater as it was quite dry and it wasn't as hot aa I would have... More

We've been few times, and were happy until recently, when the food arrived cold on one occasion. On another, the steak sauce was tasting funny and the waiter was not very professional.

Every time we have visited the Cafe rouge in Greenwich, The service and food have been fantastic, the staff are always smiling, and they all seem so pleased to see you and to serve you, nothing is to much trouble.

Staying in Greenwich

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
