A fairly established brand in London

Café Rouge Greenwich is a good place to enjoy some French cuisine in London. It a fairly priced café with good menu and food. I have also patronized café rouge at Canary Wharf and at Heathrow Airport and would recommend it.

The best service in Greenwich, all the waiting staff are very nice. Doing a great deal right now...coffee and a croissant for less than £3 (£2.85, I think). Worth following them on Twitter as Cafe Rouge often do 25 per cent discount promos.

We visited Cafe Rouge when looking for a quick breakfast before we started the drive back to Nottingham. As it was next to our hotel and open early we went for Cafe Rouge. We ordered a vegetarian breakfast, a full english breakfast and two almond croissants and tea/coffee. The latter two options were on a pastry and drink offer for... More

The breakfast menu is good, but the main dinner menu suffers from trying too hard. My salmon was cooked really well, but was smothered in soft, soggy tomatoes and far too many unnecessary pea greens. Beware the burning hot plate with the tarte tatin. Staff were generally attentive. For a chain, it is ok. Not fine dining but ok.

Visited here with the family. Our original waiter was lovely and very friendly but one of the girls was as miserable as sin!! The food was ok, smoked salmon starter nice and the croquet monsieur ok. My husbands breaded chicken was bland and tasteless. I did ask at the end if the tips were shared out or given to the... More

Not a bad meal at cafe rouge. Decent piece of steak and quantity of fries. Staff were friendly, maybe a few more needed to deal With things like the huge build up of glasses on the bar which sends the wrong impression. Some seats are a bit close together, some tables wobble, and booths are too low for the tables.... More

Good and attentive service. They also understood and delivered very neatly a special allergy diet, that sometimes seems to be an impossible challenge in restaurants. The clients were a good mix of both tourists and locals.

We stopped in for an afternoon break and had a coffee and cake each. This is an afternoon special for 4.95 (pounds). The restaurant was clean, and service was fine. An overall "OK."

My special friend Andrea and I spent a lovely hour in cafe rogue after a bracing walk to Blackheath Village. Andrea ordered snails in a tiny dolls house saucepan. They were much smaller than the great big Nigerian ones he has popped into his mouth before and found them a bit bland sadly. I myself ordered a croque Monsieur which... More

Staying in Greenwich

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
