Barcelona has 'aficion' - that means passion and knowledge and, in bullfighting, what makes you get into the ring with an irritable herbivore. The space that houses this Barcelona, the third in a continuing series, was once a pharmacy. It still has its funky antique dispensing cabinets, but is also kitted out in Barcelona's inimitable sunny style, including tiling, vivid hues, and the trademark lizard, inspired by a Gaudi mad masterpiece. The Conservatory areas are extremely popular, but then so is the whole restaurant. As it's a short five minute walk from Dulwich village, it's full of professional types, but it's located in a residential area which brings in scads of happy families reliving the cuisine of their latest Spanish holiday. Hora Loca is a madly good deal - we have our own little aficion for the jugs of sangria. The tapas include many familiar favourites as well as specialities from all the regions of Spain. Try dishes like the Andalusian pork and bean stew with chorizo, Galician-style octopus, and Catalan grilled peppers, onions and aubergines. The Spanish wine list is a treat

Good but sometimes quite salty

This little tapería is a popular choice for locals. It offers a wide selection of Spanish cuisine at reasonable prices. The food is good but sometimes a bit greasy and overly salty. I, however, would recommend the Gambas al ajillo. An ok place if your only choice.

Owner had no recollection of booking when we arrived but we needn't have booked as there was nobody there when we arrived. The food was a mixed bag. Tortilla and calamari were tasty but prawns were disappointing due to burnt garlic and olives were not up to scratch for £3.45! We were using a tastecard so we were expecting a... More

One-line snapshot: Wide range of good quality authentic tapas with typical Spanish style service to match. More detailed review: After reading all the negative comments from other reviewers I almost decied against this but the wire range of authentic Spanish dishes that aren't as commonly found in tapas bars in London swayed us to give it a go. I'm glad... More

We had a wonderful meal,a great variety of tapas, however we had to ask twice for wine and found it insulting that a 10% service charge /gratuitie added to bill , we always leave a decent tip and the manager was quite rude when we refused to pay it!we did leave a tip.this spoiled an otherwise lovely evening and has... I've passed this restaurant many times and decided to visit this evening. We ordered a set meal for 3 people, when a set 2 would have been sufficient for 3 people, the service and the food was good and staff where pleasant. My only gripe is being expected to pay an optional gratuis of around 10% which was automatically added... More

We went on a Monday evening and were the only people in the restaurant and yet the waiter seemed to have some trouble just coping with the one table. The drinks took about 20 minutes to come to us and then the food came in 2 parts because there was not enough room on the table! Another weird thing is... More

Tried this place with three friends without knowing very much about it. I wish I’d checked. The food was OK – edible, but everything else was simply awful. For a Saturday night it was not busy, but it took forever to get served drinks to start. Then it took forever for the waiter to take our order. When the food... More

After reading some negative reviews about poor service and below par food, we almost didn't come here. So glad we did!!!! The staff were friendly, the service was wonderful and the food...oh my god the food! Everything we had was delicious! The chorizo was incredible, the mussels were addictive and the selection of cured meats were absolutely fantastic. Two different... More

We waited an hour for our paella. When I asked our waiter if it were on its way, he told me that if we wanted paella sooner, we should have ordered it as soon as we came in. His attitude suggested that it was our fault that we were having to wait. When it finally arrived the food was fine... More
