OK IF YOU HATE YOUR PARTNER

I can only speak for a Saturday evening when three of us went at 10PM. We all had steaks which were good albeit expensive. We were lucky to have a nice waitress and indeed all the service was good. The trouble was there was a loud band on the ground floor. Although our table was upstairs the... read more

Ideal location right next to Waterloo station and serves lovely food, I chose from the lunch set menu (chicken and leek tart, sausage and mash, pecan pie and clotted cream). If truth be told I really fancied the steak as they had several mouth-watering cuts, but being lunchtime I fancied something a bit smaller. I was a bit surprised at... More

I went there thanks to the advice of a friend of mine, we received a warm welcome from the 2 security staff and promptly, and just after arrived the person in charge on the floor arrived and gave us a table (if i recall correctly his name is Paulo) Everything was fantastic, I had a chicken liver and foie gras... We hadn't made a booking so were delighted to get a table at 7.30 on a Friday evening. The Archduke has been part of the Southbank scene for over 30 years and has always been worth a visit. The service was friendly and professional. The food was good - we had spinach soup and chargrilled king prawns, who although they... More

Dean Moriarty would not be out of place in this beat-style jazz, cocktail, steak and wine bar, located right in the heart of London. The restaurant is built right into the Waterloo railway bridge, and while you eat the rumble of the trains over head actually adds a percussive ambiance. As a venue I felt it was fantastic, especially as... More

Stumbled upon this on route to a play in the Bargehouse behind the Oxo tower. Had the pre-theatre meal for £22 (3 courses). Lovely food and great value

We hadn't been to the Archduke for at least ten years, so we were interested to see how it was doing! It was better than we remember. We both had a good, well-priced meal before we went to a concert in the Festival Hall. The staff were helpful and made sure that we finished our meal in time.

Coming from Hereford, the steak was always going to disappoint, but how. The starter were tasteless king prawns (how do you make prawns tasteless,?) and the gristle, described and sold as rib eye steak, was awful. And with a couple of glasses of poor wine, for £60. Worst meal for a long long time.

Myself and my other half dropped into the Duke with out any reservation. We were quickly seated. Our seats had a direct view of the London eye. The atmosphere was good, nice music and the quiet chatter of other dinners. I order the Sirloin steak which was cooked perfectly. The lady ordered a rack of lamb served as cutlets'. It... More
