The home of the oldest brewery in Liverpool. It is what it is, a real old unspoilt pub. It's own brewed real ales, bar food and a piano! What Liverpool created let no redeveloper put asunder! Thank you for existing!

Me and a few friends decided to take on the "12 best beers in Liverpool" pub crawl on the 14th March. This pub came up on the list and was our 4th stop, following a couple of fun experiences in other places; most notibly the Dovey on Penny Lane. For a moment I would like to just give a shout... If never been in this pub until a few months ago. Always thought it looked a bit rough, how wrong I was! Inside of got great decor with a proper fire, good selection of drinks and the home cooked food will soon chase away the winter blues. Highly recommended

This is a proper old fashioned pub, with a open fire, good drink, friendly welcoming staff and a warm atmosphere. We go in here every time we go to Liverpool as we stay in the hotel just over the road. There have been times we have popped in for one before we walked into the city centre and stayed there... Traditional spit and saw dust pub with a lovely open fire. The ale and beers they serve are nice some of which are brewed onsite. Could do with a lick of paint and a better food menu. Would probably go back if we were passing.

This great little pub was very near to where we were staying. The staff are really friendly and chatty, cosy wood burner on a chilly day, great range of beers and even a micro brewery.

Went here with my boyfriend today at the start of a few days in Liverpool. Beer is brewed in the cellar. The smoked porter was an excellent pint or 3. Cider was good too. 2nd and 4th sunday gerry murphy plays live - folk music - was very good. Sat next to the fire on the log burner. Lovely and... More
