Great Little Pub

Spent a great couple of hours in this pub. Great atmosphere. A group of Morris Dancers and a large group of ladies, Sloggers to Joggers, all arrived at the same time, made for a great day. Drinks served quickly by the friendly staff. I would definitely return if I was that way again.

Good reason to visit Liverpool ! Comfy pub near Albert Dock, from the outside it looks like a proper boozer, inside it's full of charm, high ceilings, bare brick walls in the bar area with another two rooms off the bar. A selection of ales brewed on-site in the cellar below all served in top condition. Weren't serving food at... More

About 5 brews made in the basement and stored in the old smugglers tunnels. Exceptionally good pub fold. Try the Scouse. Old atmosphere to the core. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Wonderful old listed building now one pub which was formerly two back to back establishments! They have a micro-brewery in the basement with great choice of beers and the local drinkers are friendly too

Odd little pub on a main road, with nothing else nearby though short walk to Albert Dock. Pub itself looked a bit tatty, and on first entry you're not sure you want to stick around. Clientele was a mix of locals and tourists. Beer brewed on site was excellent. Really good flavour and strength, and very popular with the locals.... More

Love this pub. Visited in my youth and was glad to be able to take my husband there on a trip down memory lane. Old time atmosphere, great staff and competitive prices. If visiting the Albert Dock this pub is only minutes away and will allow you a taste of scouse history. Thoroughly recommended.

this pub is a real old piece of liverpool, dont listen to people who say its tatty, if they had their way every pub would be a wine bar in a bland shade of grey with no character left because thats what people who are a "success" drink fanny cocktails in on the telly. this pub has history, legends, tunnels... Quite an old and tired pub. I had the lager on tap which was to be honest flat. Others in my crowd had the home ales and cider and commented on how good they were.

Very handy to the Hampton by the Hilton hotel. Good choice of real ale. Food is not served at night but on Fridays & Saturdays there is a guy outside the main door who does Burgers & Bockwurst served with salad for £4. I had the Bockwurst , it's quite large & very filling. Friendly staff.
