Good food but a bit pricey.

We ate at 7pm. The prix fixe had finished at 6.30 so we had a la carte. The food was tasty & well presented but I felt the choice was limited & rather expensive for what it was. There weren't many people eating & there was a lack of atmosphere. There are so many new restaurants around that area... read more

We visited for afternoon tea. It was "nice" and that's it really. I was quite under whelmed with it. We have had afternoon tea at other hotels in the area and really expected the Carriage Works to totally surpass all others. Don't get me wrong it was fresh, the service was good, the cakes were "nice" but that really is... More

We ate here as part of our package with the Hope Street Hotel. We had the £25.00 three course menu. I had the Parma ham with fig chutney and granola for starters. We both had the roast beef dinner with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and veg. We ordered an extra portion of chips and honey roast veg at £4.00 a... More

Had lunch here with colleagues during the week. The restaurant is nicely presented with an excellent standard of service. Some nice touches like cucumber and ice in the jugs of water. All three courses combined was just enough to comfortably fill you. We all had (8 of us) something different so I was able to see most things served on... More

Last night my husband and I visited this restaurant with our friends to celebrate my birthday and we had a fabulous evening. The food was excellent and very well presented. All of the staff were wonderful and they really looked after us, especially our waitress. Thank you so much for a lovely evening. We will definitely return.

A friend and I had afternoon tea here a few weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon and whilst the food was very reasonably priced and good, the service was very poor. The afternoon tea itself was very good given the price we paid (£19 including a glass of prosecco). There was a good variety of sandwiches and they were happy... More

Dear Mrs1503 Thank you for your post, we are glad you liked the afternoon tea, we think it’s great quality and value for money too. Apologies our service was not up to scratch, afternoon tea can be very popular but that should not keep anyone waiting at any time which we have addressed with our team Best Wishes, Cat More

We booked a table for 6 to celebrate my mums 60th birthday, but unfortunately it was a terrible evening. 20 minutes after sitting down at our table, a waitress came to take our first drniks order. A further 20 minutes later the drinks turned up and we ordered our meals. Roll on an hour later and a 'supervisor' can't to... More

We were at the London Carriage Works last Wednesday for lunch. Recommended by some locals we were angry & looking forward to a nice lunch. The place was quite, we were shown to a table right in the middle of the restaurant. We choose a better table. We waited ages before we got the menus & even longer for our... More
