Huge portions!

On a mission to try out different places I was recommended this Vegetarian restaurant and told it was outstanding value for money. Now this statement is very true but I will go back to the beginning of my experience. Egg Café is located off Bold Street and up three flights of stairs, you literally... read more

My family love eating here. The food is great, the portions huge and prices reasonable. None of us are vegetarian, but I don't think the kids have even twigged yet there is no meat on offer the food's so good. The decor is arty, and the clientele studenty. You have to know the café is there as its located at... More

We were led here by a Liverpudlian who had heard of this place. Would certainly never have found it without her help and perseverance. Worth it though! Lots of helpful staff and good quality food at a reasonable price. Decent portion sizes and no meat in sight. I was initially put off by no meat, but glad I gave it... More

I go her occasionally with my heathen vegetarian friend, as a meat lover i didn't expect there to be anything substantial for me but i was wrong! This out of the way cafe for some of the best garlic toast I've ever had! As well as a really quite large portion of tandoori mushrooms and delicious home made cakes, all... More

Very simply decorated, the restaurant serve the best vegeterian and vegan food. The soup and the shepherd's pie were absolutely delicious. But the best part was the desert. The chocolate cake and the apple crumble with vegan ice cream on a side vere amazing! The prices are very fair for what you get. Highly recommended for vegans and vegetarians.

We went there today for dinner and enjoyed some of the daily specials: aubergine curry and mediterranian crumble (both vegan). Not only was the taste of the food amazing, but also the portion was really big. The warm atmosphere and the friendly staff made this evening even better. Don't forget to try the banana cake.

I visited The Egg Cafe back in December and this latest visit was for an afternoon snack. We chose their vegan chocolate crunch cake, and two pots of Earl Grey tea. The cake was huge, I actually thought they would cut it in two, for me to share with my husband, but we got one each with a big pot... More
