Tasty Food with quirky srroundings

Great range of tasty food even for non veggies. The pea and mint soup with garlic bread is delicious topped off with amazing chocolate cake! Very comforting food on a very rainy day as it was. The bohemian setting adds to the flavour. Will be back.

A great cafe, off the main street. lovely relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Food is delicious, a range of soups, (e.g. cauliflower & coconut-yum!) starters and main courses, (spicy bean burger and salad is a favourite,) all generous portions and really tasty. They cater well for gluten and dairy free diets. the homemade lemonade is great. We go regularly and... More

One of my favourite places to eat. It is a vegetarian restaurant with a good selection of wholesome and substantial food. The burgers are fabulous, the cheese on toast is for those with big appetites! Yummy cakes too. You may have live music as an accompaniment or a poetry reading. The hike up the stairs takes you into another time... More

We ate there the 3 days we were in Liverpool and weren't disappointed, the vegan/vegetarian food was delicious, plentiful and reasonable priced, the staff hard working and friendly.

i adore the quirky unique way this restaurant is set out but i didn't enjoy the food at all, i had rice with a vegetable curry but it wasn't curry as it was just really bland and there wasn't any spice or flavour to it just wasn't to my taste i ended up taking it away and giving it to... More

I went to Egg today for the first time with a couple of friends for lunch. I had heard about it a few times before and wanted to experience it for myself. Situated in an old warehouse tucked away on Newington off Bold Street, it wasn't that easy to locate initially, but its pretty purple decor makes it easier to... More

I've been in Egg many times (usually Wednesdays as I love their tandoori mushrooms with a passion) and I've always had a fab experience. The menu is a bit limited, it's true, but what they do they do well, the cheesy garlic bread is amazing and the aubergine curry delicious. Staff always friendly and helpful, one time the thing I... Excellent food quality and value, we had the set menu between us. Soup was a huge bowl of cauliflower and coconut, which my friend managed to clean-up, I had the main of Thai sweet chilli with salad, then large slab of tiffin and finished off with tea. £10.50 between us, can't complain. Yes they told us there would've a 25minute... More

Pretty appalling service - no matter how long the queue at the counter gets, the staff remain oblivious and make no effort to speed things up. They act like they're in a social club to chat with their mates rather than in a professional eating-place. A shame, as the one time I had the patience to work my way to... More
