This Yates is the better out of the two in town, the concert square Yates is a dump. Food and drinks cheap, always food and drink offers on. Tables little worn or maybe need a good polish and glasses need drying after they are washed as the dried water is making them look dirty. I asked behind bar to change... More

Brilliant food choice and at very reasonable prices , big selection of drinks , nice big seating area. Only downside people come in trying to sell you things in the day perfume etc and beggars asking for money , but all in all nice place to eat and drink :)

After trying Wetherspoons for Breakfast, which we found very disappointing, we thought we would try Yates's. Were very impressed! Traditional English Breakfast (including either Tea, Coffee or Hot Chocolate) for £1.95. Breakfast consisted of Bacon, Sausage, Fried Egg, Baked Beans, Tomato and Mushroom. Quick service, and very friendly staff. So good we went twice!

Called in for drink with my partner on 11/8/14. Pint of Guiness was ok but the young barman served my female partner half in a gents glass. Found a table and was disgusted at how dirty the tables were. Sticky from previous drinkers and rubbish strewn all over floor. Seats were rickety and dirty and there was an endless stream... More

Took my father in law for lunch to celebrate my retirement , our wives had abandoned us for a holiday without us. We had wine and lager. Oh and some food to go with it, a boozy lunch. The menu is extensive with lots of variety and reasonably priced. We really enjoyed ourselves but we daren't admit this to them... More

Staying just up the road at the Adelphi for the weekend so this Yates was a perfect spot for dinner On two floors with a bar on each, this pub is pretty good. Prices ok with pint of magners and large red wine only £6.40 We sat upstairs so we had a better view of the world outside as we... More

Terrible experience from this restauart, tables were dirty therefore I asked for cleaning when I ordered the food. Once we received it, the waiter just put it in the middle of the mess. Few hours later we ate our burgers, got sick and spent our night on the toilet... never again

No clean tables. No non-rickety tables. Staff at bar (Iysa?) didn't acknowledge, and when we moved to be served, started to serve us, and instead talked to the other staff members. Eventually finished taking our order, didn't even mention hot drinks would be brought to the table. Waited about 15-20 mins (wasn't that busy) Got dirty cups. Got dirty cutlery.... More

Hi, I'm very sorry that our food wasn't at the standard you expect. We pride ourselves on the quality and value of our food so I'm very upset to hear of your experience. We do regularly check what goes out from our kitchens and it looks like that hasn't happened here. I'll be looking into this further. If you'd like... More

Lots of choices, from a bacon roll at £1.49 to a full fry up. Great value They also did 2 for 1 cocktails, which we availed off, a lot!
