After dinner in the UK it is really hard when visiting a city to have an explore/walk and then find somewhere other than a restaurant or feature-less coffee shop for a late coffee. This is a fabulous find. Full of character and characters! great coffee and price. Definitely recommended.

Popped in for a bottle of wine nothing advertised and had to ask. Was told there were 3 reds to choose from, chose one but it was awful, in fact we left a third of the bottle as it was that bad and that's a first for us. Why do so many places carry such a limited and poor selection... More

Was invited here by a friend today for an impromptu brunch as she'd often passed it and thought it looked somewhere she'd like to try. The first thing that struck us on entering was how dark it was - and as we headed further back into the cafe it only got worse. The lighting is probably best for couples having... More

Still the heart of Liverpool bohemian scene since it's opening in 1974. High standards and great service. Worth a visit.

We popped in here for some food before a gig on a Sunday night - 10% off food with Independent Liverpool card (search it) We weren't the only people in there but it was far from busy. The food was reasonable quality, about what I'd expect for the price. We paid about £8 each for a burger meal. The drinks... More

I Had the opportunity to visit Liverpool last weekend and catch up with some old friends from University days. I had been a regular customer at Tabac when studying in Liverpool some years ago and was delighted to see the old place still maintaining the fantastic service and standards I had come to expect when living in Liverpool. It has... More

I'd been warned that service can be poor: in fact it was non-existent. You order the soup of the day for which they charge you an above-average £4 which you pay upfront. Then you sit and wait. After twenty minutes you ask for your money back as the soup is nowhere to be seen and you have to be somewhere... More

I've been coming here for 27 years and meet up with one of my friends for breakfast here when I'm in Liverpool. If anything the breakfasts are improving - the sausages are delicious. It celebrates its 40th birthday this year. Only downside, it's really dark inside these days. More lighting please.
