The Deli as I refer to it is an excellent place to go for a meal or even a hearty breakfast. As well as the restaurant they also have a deli as the name implies, selling items such as wholesome meat pies etc, cheese, butchery, beers and wine, confectionary etc. The welcome is friendly and the staff are very nice,... Looked forward to the food as we had heard rave reviews. Ordered a poached fish dish because it was served with a king scallop which I have never tried before. Searched on the plate for the scallop but it was missing. Told waiter later when he called to check on us. I suggested that it was too late to include... More

This place is a gem. It has both a deli shop and a restaurant, either of which is worth visiting in its own right. The food is delicious and there is a reasonable vegetatarian selection. The desserts are fantastic! It's not a cheap place for lunch, but worth it. The service is very friendly. It is worth booking for lunch but... More

Thank you very much for the feedback. We're very proud of the food our chefs put out and their veggie offerings are treated as seriously as all the other main dishes. Glad you enjoyed them. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Regards Candice Fonseca More

this is normally a really good restaurant but we went in for a snack so ordered a rarebit. The toast was burnt and it seemed it was an afterthought. Very poor. If you have time go for the main courses off the blackboard as there is a lot of choice and you won't be disappointed. it always surprises me that... More

Apologies that a missed check back led to a missed opportunity for you to highlight the problem with your rarebit. I note you visited way back in September and unfortunately we had a number of new staff members learning on the job. Clearly our attention to detail slipped n this occasion (I suspect just due to green inexperience) but I... More

Went to delifonseca after driving past it for a while. At first i was pleased with the selection of continental cheeses and cured meats, it was almost like being in an italian deli! But in an italian deli the staff show passion for the food they're selling and are warm and friendly, and maybe they aren't being genuine but its... More

Dear Pizzarruni Thank you for your feedback but please note this is a restaurant tripadvisor site and not a 'deli' review site. I apologise if a staff member was 'barely polite' and will be speaking to all the evening staff (unfortunately you do not specify which evening you visited so I am unable to clearly identify whom you are speaking... went during the week with my friend; really enjoyable. Celeriac soup as a delicious starter for me, and her aubergine pate was to die for. Mains were just as good - salmon fish cakes and a root vegetable curry. Not cheap but very very nice.

Every time I am visiting my close and foodie friends in Liverpool we always squeeze in a supper and mooch around delifonseca on dockside. I love this place. I am like a kid in a sweet shop in the shop and the restaurant always a joy. If waitrose opened a restaurant this would be it. Consistent adventurous yet always respecting... More

Always excellent, today's lunch featured a beautifully cooked veal steak, followed by a scrumptious chocolate torte. The staff are attentive and there is always a great atmosphere. I love the adjacent deli too.

Found this place near our hotel and thought we would give it a to go save going into town. We were pleased we did as the food was excellent and a good choice to choose from. Nicely cooked nicely presented and served by friendly staff well worth a visit.
