Nice restaurant

Good choice of food. Service good. Waitress very pleasant and put off time with you. Comfortable dining room. I had venison pie which was very tasty and a good size portion.

Enjoyed a delicious meal here while staying in Liverpool . I had chicken and mushroom pie and it was without doubt the best pie I've ever eaten. I also ordered the plum crumble which was equally delicious. The waitress asked how many spoons we needed and I was a bit puzzled by this, until the crumble arrived - it was... More

Thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday roast of lamb, well cooked and good service. What you'd expect from somewhere like this.

Went here twice during our break in Liverpool in Feb, once for dinner after arriving at our hotel fairly late (it's very close to Hope Street Hotel). They serve food until 10pm and were happy to accommodate! The fish pie was great as was the chicken and bacon burger. We couldn't understand why we were the only ones there (although... More

Well worth a visit the rib steak is absolutely magnificent and the puddings are good too. The staff are very efficient. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who visits Liverpool.

Lovely dining area, great atmosphere and attentive staff. Speedy service and great food. Rustic and menu has something for everyone. Puddings to die for!!! Only blot on the landscape was a member of the kitchen staff SMOKING in the doorway to the pub. No no no no.....that could just put customers off yuch :-(

Went here as a must see. Don't expect too much is it is what it is. A large and very old pub. Well looked after though an looks stunning. Food was very nice indeed, the sharing platter in particular. Book in advance for food especially if there is something on at the Philharmonic across the road.

Went here for a typical british Sunday roast. My off the bone lamb was delicious. The place is nice and has a nice atmosphere. Our waiters were particularly nice and took care of us. Prices are affordable (10£ for a full roast) but drinks are way too expensive.

We thought the Philharmonic was a terrific pub/restaurant. The place was big, but the separate rooms made it seem very friendly and charming. More reminiscent perhaps of a gentleman's club due to the ornateness of the decor but friendly staff and good food made for a really nice and comfortable atmosphere. Our food was great and the pub served a... More

The rooms, dedicated to famous musician are a little bit kitsch but it is funny to have an english breakfast in such an atmosphere. In addition, food is really good. The only thing to add would be a slice of black pudding!
