We just popped in for a drink and to look around, but when we saw all the beautiful meals being served, we just had to eat. It was lovely and you couldn't have more friendly staff. Just great.

Reasonably priced, lovely decor, polite staff and amazing male toilets. Worth going for a drink. The leather chairs are nice and comfy and a gives a real feel for the traditional Liverpool.

Had lunch here a few weeks ago, food was lovely. Had the veggie burger, very tasty, lots of salad with it. My husband had the sausage and mash, which he polished off in record time. The wine and beer menu looked good as well. Will definitely go back and try out the rest of the menu. Staff were great, atmosphere... More

A really quirky pub but great atmosphere. The dining room upstairs was comfortable and constantly busy.....good job we had booked!!! All the staff we had contact with were very pleasant and helpful and dealt with our orders very efficiently. The background music was just right (not to loud) and the food was piping hot and tasty when brought to our... More

The Philharmonic is a Liverpudlian institution, that needs an injection of something new. Lovely decor but the our group of 20 was herded and and served impatiently rather than offered the remarkable welcome that Liverpool can do so well. Won't be going back.

You get quite a large plate for your money. The chicken was well cooked but the veg quality wasn't fantastic, plus the Yorkshire pudding and roast spuds were a little over cooked. The service is good, polite and fast. The overall surroundings are also lovely. Check out the pub downstairs and the grade 1 listed (mens) toilets.

I'd never been here before, the Google images looked great and the reviews very good. My expectations were high, so I was naturally disappointed with a number of things. I thought with the menu stand at the front someone would collect us, but soon realised this wasn't the case, went inside and through the boozer (with 2 children) to find... More

Very nice place, not loud music. So you can go there with friends to enjoy your drinks or food. Very quick and fast service. One of the famous attractions in Liverpool. The gents toilets are a unique piece of the building. We had great time

We were staying across the road from the Philharmonic in the Hope Street Hotel. It's a stunning building both inside and out. Still has a lot of its original features. Beautiful mosaic tiles and lots of wood. Few different snugs with great furniture and bigger room down the hall with an amazing ornate ceiling. They did a brilliant Sauvignon blanc... More

Great old Victorian Pub. Worth a visit. John Lennon is reported to have used this as his local before fame prevented it.
