Historical building with cosy atmosphere

The decor is interesting in this building with the restaurant area speed through several different sized rooms, all with character. We ordered the steak pie which was ample and very tasty and home cooked. Good selection of ales and wines and the young servers were very friendly and prompt with the... read more

Went for lunch with four friends, it's got a lovely atmosphere and you can't fault the staff, but the food was not up to the standard you would expect, the chicken and mushroom pie was very dry, and one of the club sandwiches had to be sent back as the chicken was clearly not cooked. Overall it was a disappointing... More

Went for a pre-concert meal. Previous dining had been good, but the pub has been taken over by the Nicholson chain ( endemic in London,) and the atmosphere and the food in the upstairs dining room was not of old..The meat was overcooked, and drying, with gravy tossed almost casually over the whole dish in an attempt to mask the poor... The decor and atmosphere of this place is next to none. However, the food did not live upto the expectations, although we did not book a table they did manage to fit us in with a 45 minute wait, which was fine with us.When we ordered our mixed grills we were asked how we would like our steaks cooking, one rare one medium we... My wife and I booked dinner here as it was just across the road from the theatre and had read reports off the internet. Upon arrival we were the first couple in the dinning rooms, the staff friendly and helpful . On ordering as it was cold the soup sounded very appealing , but were told they had sold out... More

One of the must see places in Liverpool is The Philharmonic Dining Rooms with the original gentleman's toilets, which is an original 1890s Adamant lavatory with its mosaics and pink marble! WOW

First time in the philharmonic and was stunned at how beautiful the building was. We was served delicious pints of ale and the service was with a smile. We stayed for a few hours as it was so warm and cosy we didn't want to leave. Such a hidden gem in a wonderful building.

We visited this lovely pub on Saturday for lunch. The building is beautiful and the atmosphere cozy. I am just so disappointed with the food. We were 5 people and everyone complained about burned food – chicken, burgers and even my sweet potato fries.

Once every 3 months my brother, my dad and I take a trip around the old pubs in Liverpool having a drink in each one! This is our usual starting point. It's a great old building with plenty of character. It could do with a little clean up but that's it! I wouldn't change a thing. Fully recommend!

Popped in here after work with my colleagues. Not that busy for a Monday night but a nice bubble. We bought a selection of beers in 1/3 pints served on a plank! Retiring to the Brahms room we languished in the lovely leather upholstered chairs and quietly passed and hour enjoying excellent beer and company! Superb!
