excellent lavatories

The food was good - but it is the listed toilets that are truly worth visiting - simply stunning. From an era when conveniences mattered and there were coat pegs provided, the porcelain is outstanding

Went for a drink after the show and it is as good as it always is, with lots of character and atmosphere. Did not eat on this occasion.

A fantastic traditional pub with lovely architectural features, all tiles, brass and polished dark wood. There are very few places left in Liverpool that still retain so much of past glory. A brilliant place to meet up with friends and have a drink and good conversation. It is close to both cathedrals and a wonderful place to drop into should... More

An amazing Art Deco building with wonderful tiling and decor throughout. The menu for lunch was fairly extensive and there was an offer of lunch and a drink for £7. Two of us chose the sharing platter which was excellent, another chose the club sandwich and the fourth member of our group the scampi and chips. The portions were not... More

My husband and I visited here on a Monday lunch time, fairly quiet. Grand old building, good selection of real ales, staff very hospitable. The food lets the place down. Service was slow but the server was very pleasant. I had the wild boar burger with chorizo, chips and coleslaw £10.50. My husband had sausages and mash £9.50, three sausages... More

We visited this pub following a recommendation. We were not disappointed. Arrived without booking a table before hand but would recommend that you book first. The pub itself was very busy but our group of six went up to the dinning room in the hope of getting a table at around 5pm. We were seated immediately and were not disappointed... More

the sampler of 3 x 1/3 pints for various ales was a great way to taste some of the local brews. Very friendly staff. Breathtaking interior. I have never seen a more beautiful pub.
