A beautiful restaurant

The Philharmonic Dining Room was among the most beautiful settings for a meal. The wood paneling, period furniture, and stuffed chairs made for a delightful evening. The food was good but nothing special. Service was reasonable, as were the prices. I recommend the Phil just to see the place!

What a fantastic pub. Great place to eat, drink and relax in great surroundings. Nice seating area outside at the front. Decent real ales. Reasonable pub grub.We just had sandwiches and chips, which were fine. There is a restaurant upstairs, but we didn't investigate it. Good service. Average prices. Part of the Nicholsons chain. We had an absolutely lovely lunch here today. The pub is beautiful inside, a site in itself. We arrived at 11.30 and waited half an hour for lunch to start. The breakfast menu was tempting but I was waiting for a sandwich. I was very glad we did because the lunchtime food was delicious. Would definitely visit again!

Beautiful, beautiful pub. Really nice to walk around and admire the old Victorian decor. Beautiful wood panelling, stunning stained glass and tiling. Oh and you must check out the men's loo - the only toilet in the UK with grade I listing!

I love the Phil, great staff and great beer. It is a lovely place to sit and relax with a drink! But recently the music has changed and it is far too hectic to enjoy a casual drink. Everything is great there, but please change the music!

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. They do a nut roast (with yorkshire pudding, veg etc.) . Tasty food and a nice pint of beer too. Planning a sunday return soon. Nothing happened to disturb me.

Nice old building with plenty of character, the beer was good and went down well. I had the steak & ale pie which enjoyed, service was good, food nice hot. My wife had a chicken burger which she also enjoyed. Will go back next time I visit Liverpool.

Four of us ate in the upstairs dining room. We all enjoyed our meals which were well cooked & reasonably priced and the surroundings were lovely. The service was excellent - a minor issue with a voucher was speedily resolved - and waiting staff very pleasant. Would definitely recommend. It's a fantastic building inside and out.
