I love going to Etsu, the moment I walk in I feel I am in a tranquil heaven. It is quite small but cosy and a favourite with the young Japanese community of the city as well as those in the know. For starters my husband and I choose a mixed tempura whose batter was lovely and light plus small... More

Definetly think Etsu is overrated. Booked at 7.30 - shown to our reserved table which was in the corner- next to another reserved table that was set out lovely as opposed to the napkin and chopsticks.why would this bother me - well i think it was indicative of the service throughout- it seemed to be if you were known you... Came with a group of friends last night (Friday) and loved it, I've worked near this restaurant for about 7 years but I've never visited before, now I can't wait to come again and I'm currently thinking up an excuse. We were lucky because the restaurant was busy but another party had cancelled I had a starter of sea bass... More

I ate at Etsu with colleagues while attending a workshop at the University of Liverpool. I found the large menu a bit bewildering as I haven't had much experience with Japanese food, so I closed my eyes and pointed my finger at the menu to choose my main course! My finger landed on a pork katsu curry, which was very... More

Friendly, knowledgable service and absolutely stunning food. I tried the Nasu Dengaku, Yasai Gyoza and a mixed sushi/sashimi plate. It was all prepared to perfection. I would highly recommend this place!

This was supposed to be one of the best sushi restaurants in Liverpool. Well, it is certainly not. We were four people who ordered different meals. The appetizers were ok but lacked taste and was at best average. The worst part is the main course. I ordered a sashimi set. What i got was fish that smelled, that is not... More

There was nothing to dislike! The sushi was awesome and also the other dishes were so tasteful. It's a small restaurant, it hasn't got a fancy decoration, but the food......you can wake me up in the middle of the night for this treat.

It was a big surprise that for a wednesday night the restaurant was busy. The service and the food was very. I think that was a bit overprice but it was ok.

Not a great fan of Japanese food but enjoyed lunch here. The lunchtime bento boxes give you rice, stir fried veg which was exceptional, salad, pickles and a good choice of sushi, sashimi, tempura or meat/ fish dishes from about 7 to 10 pounds. Washed down with a pot of green tea it cheered a foul day. Service is impeccable.... More
