Worth seeking out

Hidden away from the main shopping area, only 5 minutes walk it's definitely worth seeking out. Bright and airy inside with friendly staff and a good choice of freshly prepared food on offer at reasonable prices, the offer lunchtime specials to include a main and dessert.

I found this place almost by accident last Saturday whilst on a day out in Lincoln with two friends we liked the look of the cheese based menus from the outside so in we went and although it was very busy we got seated very quickly the staff were very friendly and attentive the food was beautifully presented and perfectly... Visit this lovely little hidden gem very regularly with my husband for lunch and the bistro evenings. Can never fault the standard of food or service. Highly recommended !!

Visit here infrequently( but it always hits the spot) my OH more so! Her friend also loves it. We all decided to visit. Menu becoming more diverse both on the cheese and none cheese front! Had a perfectly cooked piece of Hake with a lovely lemon butter and new potatoes. A much underused fish on these shores despite being indigenous... More

Dined here with family on 12 August for a late lunch. Good service with excellent food served in an informal setting. Even though not inexpensive, the quality of each course was excellent. Highlights included excellent chips with Parmesan and truffle oil, really good Welsh Rarebit, first class risotto, and superb sirloin cooked blue exactly to my liking. Nothing to really criticise. Highly... More

go a little bit out of your way to find this small, tidy restaurant. Cheese features on the innovative menu. Some chose the old favourite macaroni cheese and declared it perfect. Cheesy, creamy, hot and tasty. Another went for the more traditional ploughman so which was well presented and tasty. Service was prompt and polite. Prices a bit more than... More

You have to be local. This small restaurant is tooK away, but it's well worth going out of your way to find it. Run by the owner, every thing is spot on. Cheese is the order of day, and cooked on premises. If in the City don't miss out. You will not be disappointed.

This is always our first choice when we visit Lincoln on a weekday, but this time I struggled to find something I fancied to eat. Went for a veggie Tartiflette which was okay, but very oniony. My husband loved his soufflé. I think £3 for soft drinks is quite steep. Staff are uniformly lovely and it is better now they've... More

Visited Lincoln for the first time in ages and found the shop and then the cafe. Gorgeous food - I had the tartiflette, yummy, and my other half had a Croque Monsieur. Great prices, good portion sizes, great service. Definitely visiting again soon.
