A small little bistro for a lazy Saturday lunch serving everything associated with cheese. Interesting menu dedicated to the cheese connoisseur for sure. Cheese pates, cheese soufflés, cheese tarts and salads - as well as a good choice for those not too interesting in the delightful art of cheese. This place is a find, especially for Lincoln which isn't renowned... More

We haven't been to Lincoln for a long time and the last time I went the shop was part of the restaurant. It has now gone onto Steep Hill leaving the restaurant on the corner with more much needed tables. The cheese soufflé is the best I have ever eaten, it is so tasty and the selection of breads are... The menu is, despite the cheese emphasis, varied and all delicious. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere busy and upbeat. Great value for money too!

This restaurant does not take bookings and so works on a first come first served basis. We arrived at midday and had no problem getting a table for 4, but it soon filled up as it is only a small place. Our meals were chosen from the specials menu, two courses for £11.95...very good value and worth every penny. Drinks... More

We'd been meaning to go to this restaurant for years and finally found the time to take that brief turn left before steep hill. My only regret was that we hadn't done this ages ago. We were fortunate to be seated straight away by the welcoming and attentive staff, and although it was busy (Saturday lunchtime) the service was excellent.... More

Fabulous food, fantastic friendly service, fresh locally sourced produce! Double baked cheese souffle to die for and best desserts in town. I am a huge fan as you can probably tell. We love to eat here just a great ambience and ideal for relaxed chatting lunchtime with friends.

Staff greeted us straight away. Very relaxed atmosphere. Waitress talked us through the menu and all the different cheeses. Portion sizes are great! Pricey but worth it!! Will be back very soon.

Lunch in town with my husband on my first day not working after retirement. The creamy garlic mushrooms were lovely although the toasted brioche they were on was a little too sweet for my taste. The double baked cheese souffle was not quite as creamy as I like but the Parmesan sauce was delicious. Husband was happy with his meal... More

The cheese society has two places, a cheese shop at the bottom of Steep Hill where you can get a great selection of cheeses. They also have a restaurant in the nearby square (turn right at the bottom of steep hill if you are walking down it)- the cheesy scrambled eggs are very nice, but all the food looks good.
