Lunch in town with my husband on my first day not working after retirement. The creamy garlic mushrooms were lovely although the toasted brioche they were on was a little too sweet for my taste. The double baked cheese souffle was not quite as creamy as I like but the Parmesan sauce was delicious. Husband was happy with his meal... More

The cheese society has two places, a cheese shop at the bottom of Steep Hill where you can get a great selection of cheeses. They also have a restaurant in the nearby square (turn right at the bottom of steep hill if you are walking down it)- the cheesy scrambled eggs are very nice, but all the food looks good.

As a full qualified chef myself with Hotel experience abroad and 22 years in the army. I have very high standards. Do not expect costly table cloths or 6 wine glasses & 4 sets of cutlery here!! BUT what you get is the best double baked cheese soufflé to die for. The menu is First Class AND now even a... More

I just had to write another review of The Cheese Society, I had a late lunch here with my friend. SUPERB! I love this little place, it's quiet, staff are friendly and welcoming and the food isn't bad either! If you are in the area The Cheese Society must be at the top of your places to eat list!

I go to Lincoln a couple of times a year and always visit The Cheese Society because I just can't find a place to eat lunch that is anywhere near as good. A fantastic range of choice and always delicious. They have recently extended the eating area which improves the atmosphere because people are no longer stood around next to... More

A little bit on the expensive side but probably due to the location, rents will be stiff here. Nice service and for a small bistro cafe a good choice of food, the lunch special excellent

Seems the old adage is true. The lunchtime specials looked amazing but it was too early for that sadly. We both got "cheesy scrambled eggs" which was extremely expensive and took a while to come. The menu said it came with a coffee although our dopey waitress only gave the coffee to us after the food came so we were... More

Being a bit of a sucker for anything cheese and bread related we ended up in this little shop for a quick view. Lovely cheese and artisan bread collections. would make a great picnic if here for the day. Ended up buying some gorgeous small plates for cheese and a quick chat to the extremely friendly staff. Had we been... More

I love visiting here, the food is always really delicious no matter what I choose, but the one thing I cannot say no to is the chocolate brownie with salted caramel sauce. So light! The restaurant fills up quickly so come early on or come prepared to wait! It is worth it though, I promise.
