We had cheese with every course and thoroughly enjoyed it all. Paté to start, backed camembert and cheesecake for dessert. Superb value too with the 3 course set menu. The only disappointment is that the café is so small. Can be difficult to get a table during busy periods.

Our son treated us to a meal there as part of our Xmas present. The menu is quite varied although as the name suggests the main themes are cheese. The food was delicious and a good sized meal. The staff are great and do anything they can to make your visit one to remember.

Tucked away on a street off the Strait, before it becomes Steep Hill, the Cheese Society is a real gem and not to be missed. The food is excellent and freshly prepared. There is a great choice and always a specials board. It is a very relaxed atmosphere and prices are sensible. Cheese does feature in many dishes but there... More

This little place is one of Lincoln's hidden gems. Small, friendly, with a constantly changing menu from locally sourced produce, it's usually quite busy. Quirky opening hours - mostly just lunchtimes and afternoons and you can't book in advance. Some won't like that, but it seems to keep the pretentious away in the most part. Stop in for lunch if... Went to one of the Bistro Evenings. The Cod loin was to die for. The surroundings and staff are also very good. Highly recommended.

A small little bistro for a lazy Saturday lunch serving everything associated with cheese. Interesting menu dedicated to the cheese connoisseur for sure. Cheese pates, cheese soufflés, cheese tarts and salads - as well as a good choice for those not too interesting in the delightful art of cheese. This place is a find, especially for Lincoln which isn't renowned... More

We haven't been to Lincoln for a long time and the last time I went the shop was part of the restaurant. It has now gone onto Steep Hill leaving the restaurant on the corner with more much needed tables. The cheese soufflé is the best I have ever eaten, it is so tasty and the selection of breads are...
