Steep Hill is A Steep Hill, so if you have climbed this far you deserve to replace those burned calories with a hearty pie. Friendly service, home cooked pies and a good value lunch menu. Decent wine list too. My only negative is that it is a bit dark and gloomy in the back of the restaurant, but some may... More

We called in on 04/08.we have been a few times and never been disappointed. Unfortunately the quality of the food this evening was poor, the beef with mushroom thankfully had little meat inside, it started off quite good but the majority was chewy and poor quality. We mentioned this after the meal and the waitress apologised and said she would... More

Myself and my husband, made a trip to Lincoln last September and while we were there, we went here for food, as we had looked at places before we went and this one stood out to us. The food was delicious, the pies were huge, and we asked to sit down in the cellar and it was just stunning, we... More

Excellent traditional English pies and the best beef Wellington I've ever eaten. It is truly a wonderful experience!

Service excellent, food delicious, good house red wine. I had a pie and once I learned that with pies under a puff pastry lid the trick is to mash the pastry into the gravy, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The waiting staff are charming. A very enjoyable meal

We love the Pie Shop! They serve the best pies ever and the cellar room is lovely. The a Early Bird menu is great value. Be sure to save room for a pudding though!

We visited this lunchtime as we were in Lincoln visiting my partner’s daughter who is at university there. It was a really warm day 26 degrees even so the place was about half full. Very nice place a bit twee but not cramped. Service very good and I was pleased to see 2 vegi options among the choices of pie.... More

This was our 2nd visit in two months. First time I had a steak & ale pie with a puff pastry lid, from the tea time specials menu, very nice indeed. This time I had the Chicken Wellington with a mustard sauce, couldn't fault it. All washed down with a pint of real ale. Cracking food, good atmosphere, good service.... More

This was a quaint restaurant with a varied, traditional menu. I had the Lincolnshire sausages and treacle tart .....bad for the waistline perhaps, but they were piping hot and delicious. The staff were charming.

Pies like I have never seen before and the taste also! Filling was deliciously full of flavour and quality meat. Restaurant was busy but there were plenty of staff on duty and our meal was served with very little wait. Didn't try the deserts as we were full! Only criticism is that there is little ambience in the restaurant, just... More
