After a long cultural day in Lincoln, had a lovely meal. Right in the centre of Lincoln so very convenient. Enjoyable and would recommend.

We had lunch here on a Saturday and we both had the devilled mackerel on a warm potato salad with buttered spinach. Quite the most interesting plate of food I have had in a while. Nice quiet ambience and good service!

Great service and food which is reasonably price. Well worth a visit. They have appeared in the Michelin Guide for a number of consecutive years and well deserve it.

I live very close to this restaurant and have been visiting it for many years, although not so often over the past five years because the food had become totally unreliable with regards to quality. However the food yesterday was excellent. The black pudding starter would have been five star if the egg had been runny, but nevertheless very good.... More

This place is large and has a bar. Has full menu and some specials. Food was delicious. I had the beef and mushroom stew with mashed and it melt in your mouth. They were very busy and definitely could you more staff for bussing tables and waiters.

Really disappointed with the service and food which due to the speed of the pudding and volcanic bubbling of the custard clearly came out of a microwave. I have eaten there for my last time

I recently ate grouse, served with a variety of vegetables (I had choices) at the Wig and Mitre, after simply walking in off the street. It was a generous portion of beautifully cooked food. My husband and I were two of only four people in the restaurant (for lunch), which was surprising, but apparently normal; it does mean that other... More

This restaurant is situated at the top of Steep Hill so you work up an appetite walking up to it but is was worth every step, the food was sublime. Would recommend this restaurant which is in a lovely old building, staff were pleasant and friendly and it was an enjoyable experience

On Monday evening my wife and I decided to try the the Wig and Mitre, recommended by friends and backed up by good reviews. We can only assume it was the chef's night off. My wife's Provencal tart was burnt black on its underside yet floppy, as if reheated in a microwave, rendering it virtually inedible. My 'whole grilled plaice'... More
