Great location just near the castle and the cathedral.

We had a soup lunch and then went back for dinner later. Warm and friendly with a good selection on the specials board.

The Wig has the air of an old coaching inn. It is a pub spread over several floors and rooms at the top of Steep Hill in Lincoln but with table service in the restaurant area. I last reviewed the Wig 3+ years ago and have eaten here on odd occasions since then. This time it was a bit more... More

I love this pub/eatery, it's a lovely place to be, but sadly the food is totally unreliable. Catch it on a good day and it's great, today it was not. We went for lunch and decided to just have a starter. The plaice goujons were overcrumbed, dry and overcooked. The accompanying garlic mayonnaise did not taste of garlic and in... More

Met a friend here around noon, she managed to get them to make her breakfast even though it was 12:01pm, so that was good. I waited forever for table service before I realized you have to order at the bar! Rookie North American mistake. Thought the prices were a bit high, but I was pleased with my lamb with bubble... We went for a light lunch in this friendly and welcoming pub. Very nice cheese souffle and a great thai chicken salad with crispy wonton . Small but good selection of beers . Great value and very nice , we would definitely go back .

We are part of a community choir called BeVox (we just love it-a great crowd!) One of our members, Barbara, arranged for our Lincoln group (as BeVox has members in four counties) to meet up before the new Season began (Lincoln runs on a Wednesday 7-9pm-Lincoln Christ Hospital School). It was a Tuesday evening at the Wig & Mitre 5th... More

My wife and I had a new year's eve meal at the Wig. The food and service could not be faulted and we considered it to be really excellent value

Lovely little pub. Good selection of beers on tap. The front area is dog friendly, which was imperative for us. Friendly staff and friendly locals too.
