very clean pub

We had lunch here, thought it was clean and quiet. The menu seemed a good price and decent selection of food. We decided on the small portion £6 meal. The portions was good size with lots of potatatoes and good helping of meat (belly pork) a separate dish with 3 lots of vegatables nicely cooked not... read more

We have been going to the Stag for some years now for meals and have usually been pleased with the value for money, service and atmosphere. This was the first time we had been to the Carvery. To begin with the seating was awful. Lots of tables crammed into the room, it was more like eating in a refectory. People... More

Despite the bar not being particularly busy, there was only one lady serving. It took 15 minutes to order 3 cokes and a lemonade. Some friends didn't even get served as she went to serve other people. Glasses were everywhere and the children's play area was dangerous as most of it had broken.

Went for a drink on a sunday afternoon with family. It took 15 minutes waiting at the bar to be served as there was only one woman serving and she was a tad slow. After giving us our drink's, she didn't ask the rest of the party and went to serve more people. There were glasses everywhere, miserable staff and... More

Went for a meal in Sunday and ended up staying for a few drinks like we always do. Service was good to start with food wasn't too great cauliflower was like mush and carrots hard (not as good quality as normal). As the night went on there was less and less staff around there was Natalie on the bar (gotten... More

Me, my mum and sister visited the pub for a Carvery this afternoon for Mother's Day. Upon arriving we were ignored at the 'please wait to be seated sign' for a good five minutes. When we were finally seated to our table (which we booked) the space for out seats were too small for any of the 3 of us... More

Popped with a last minute booking for a Sunday carvery ,even though we had a 15minute delay for our table ( this was due to them having bookings for 380 covers) the carvery was plentiful with a selection of both medium and well done roast beef with a good selection of fresh and well cooked vegetables. Overall even though a... More

Whilst having drinks with friends on Friday in a pub I usually enjoy I noticed there has been a fast change in customer base...... When entering the pub, half the drinking area was full, usually a good sign, it was soon clear to see most of these were younger drinkers in there late teens or early twentys, within minutes they...
