Fabolous, friendly, excellent food and hospitality

We visited from Ireland and were in Lincoln for the first time but visited the Jews House, they facilitated us without reservation and our evening was wonderful, fantastic food, great ambiance and wonderful hospitality. Absolutely to be recommended....but book ahead definitely worth it.

First visit to Lincoln, went as a couple for our anniversary, booked this restaurant based on trip advisor reviews. Disappointed with the actual place inside, put in the corner of a very large room upstairs, next to a cupboard with another table very close, having a private conversation would be impossible. Toilet facilities were very good !! Nice to be... More

We booked through Tripadvisor yesterday and the booking was confirmed. When we turned up this evening there was no record of our booking. Obviously something had gone wrong with the IT systems but we all felt that the manager handled the situation badly. There was no apparent interest in the fact that our booking had gone wrong and no real... More

Other than a slightly diffident waiter we found the front of house operation pretty impressive. Good and attentive service, a good wine list and a small but intimate dining area. The kitchen isn't so good. The tomato and basil consommé was excellent but adding crab to it didn't help at all.The scallops were not as fresh as they should have... More

We had booked before our planned trip to Lincoln as this came highly recommended it did not disappoint. We chose the tasting menu and asked whether there was an accompanying wine choice but this was not the case. We chose a white wine but we're then recommended a different one to ensure it matched the scallop with apple dish. The... More

Great food here with very accomplished cooking. Definitely one of the top restaurants in Lincoln and would probably place in top 3 for sure. It can be a little quiet in terms of atmosphere so at times I felt I had to whisper to avoid people overhearing my conversations. Maybe slightly louder background music would help. Generally great food and... More

Exceptionally fine food, wine, atmosphere, staff and decor. I have eaten at some very fine and expensive venues across the globe and for under £50 a head including wine - This was truly fantastic. We visited Saturday 27th June. The best bread I have ever tasted

Set inside a beautiful Romanesque building full of character of it's own, this wonderful restaurant boast fantastic, attentive service and amazing modern European food. Before our starters came we were served a salmon gazpacho, compliments of the chef, as an appetiser, which was a nice touch and also very tasty. Then came the bread - warm fresh bread in a... More
