To start with this is a lovely looking cafe with a small enclosed outside area that is just perfect for the summer. It's also a bring your own, which makes a nice change - although corkage is £2 per person. Saying that I just did not think the food was impressive. For example, perhaps I'm used to the unctuous Nigel... More

My fiancé and I decided to try this little restaurant on a whim for a quick, light lunch. The service was extremely friendly and helpful :-) The specials board was great and we both had a delicious pasta dish. It was quick, hot and yummy! There was watermelon ice cream too which was to die for! I would recommend this... More

This was the second time me and my wife visited this cute and cosy restaurant. The service was friendly and fast. My wife ordered a roasted veg and mozzarella ciabatta while I ordered a pasta dish with chicken, feta, spinach and pesto. The portions were more than ample and the food was absolutely delicious. The Italian,owner/chef ended the meal perfectly... More

When you're standing outside, it looks like a pleasant enough cafe - perhaps it might have given me the wrong impression! I went to La Bottega the other day and I came out really happy. Not amazed, but happy. The food was pretty good and the service efficient. However, I think it was rather expensive for what I was getting... More

Lovely bistro, fantastic food, welcoming and friendly staff. Prices are very reasonable and food is presented attractively, plus there is loads of it. In the evenings you can take your own alcohol. Open daytime and evening, and takeaway is available. Really worth trying this place - great food and atmosphere - what more could you want? Starters and mains for... More

Good things come in small packages and it's certainly true of this cosy little place. From the warm welcome to the excellent fresh, homemade menu it's a real gem of a place. Lot's of specials on the board which are freshly prepared and mouthwateringly tasty from paninis and wraps to full plates of homemade lasagne and pasta dishes. Excellent coffee... More

Unpretentious, with good quality pasta at modest cost. Went on evening with BYO wine a cheap option. Home made tiramisu was excellent. A bit cramped but recommended for a quality cheap meal.

Visited the city and booked here after checking Trip Advisor. The place is very unassuming looking and small. Only 4 tables, there were 4 of us eating and we were next to the kitten-it's hard not be because of the small size, but this actually added to the cosy, homely atmosphere. We didn't know it was byob when we got... More
