Anniversary Dinner

The menu is limited but everything is locally sourced and cooked to perfection. We started with Mackerel for my wife and Scallops for myself - both excellent. We followed with the fillet steak of local beef for both of us - again cooked to perfection with great veg to accompany. Couldn't resist the... read more

Some of the dishes lived up to the fine dining image that the photographs give but we went on a Sunday and the traditional Sunday lunch was no better than an average pub. Wine was served at the wrong temperature. Half price for kids was good value but would not go back as did not live up to our expectations.

We were a group of 12 people on a Wednesday night, which is Steak Night! Most steaks came overdone and small portions. Being British, no one complained... :-(. Perhaps it was too much for the chef to handle allat once!? Not really attracted to go back again.

Six of went for lunch, small boy gluten & dairy intolerant. No problem at we'll cater for him, they said and they did, very well. The rest of us, however, waited for a couple of cold starters for 12/15 minutes and when those plates were cleared we were asked if we were ready for mains. 30 mins later, I went... More

We had decided to stop for lunch in Lincoln on a longish journey to the East coast from the South Midlands and picked out the Tower Restaurant because of the positive reviews. The restaurant was fully booked by a business group so we opted for the bar, assuming that the standard of food would be on a par .We chose... More

A friend and I attended one lunch time recently. It was lovely. The restaurant itself was quiet, as it was a beautiful day most of the lunchtime activity appeared to be in the rear outdoor seating area. The ambiance was splendid. The tables were set with old English style china. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. The food was... More

We had a splendid meal here. Sensible portion sizes and some very interesting flavours - for example the pea and mint sorbet with the smoked eel starter. The wine list was excellent and we enjoyed a lovely rose pale as pale and worth seeking out for home. The only disappointment was that the formal dining room was empty, though the... More

I thoroughly enjoyed eating at this restaurant: the food is imaginative, beautifully presented, very tasty, surprising and filling! I had Broccoli Puree one night but the Goatwood curd was really quite delicious with a wonderful blend of creamy curd flavours and raspberry...I wish I could have had dinner in there again to try the scallop risotto. I had the Pollack... More
