We chose La dolce vita for a catch up with friends having read so many good reviews. We made the right choice! Superb freshly cooked food, the pork special was just fab and friendly attentive service all evening. The restaurant itself has a simple homely feel but the food and welcome alone make it worth the visit!

A friend booked a table for 7.15 pm at La Dolce Vita for a party of six to celebrate my birthday despite some of the poor reviews. Unfortunately, we ended up leaving the restaurant without even ordering our meal! When we arrived the proprietor said he had made 'a mistake' with the booking as a couple were having a meal... More

In response to your review, particularly with regard to my "lack of charm", I must make readers aware of your groups lack of patience. A rare mistake was made with your booking and it was explained clearly if you had listened. The couple who were eating at your table would be asked to move on completion of their main course.... Went to his restaraunt after being recommended by a family member who has been numerous times. The restaraunt is situated on Narborough Road in Leicester which is a busy road. I used to travel past this restaraunt twice a day onto my way to work and never noticed it. The restaraunt is quite small however it gives it a homely... More

Lovely little place, very friendly staff, tasty food, generous portions and reasonable prices. Chain italians are not a patch on this, will definitely return.

2 or 3 times a year a group of us meet up when we're all back from Uni. Before our previous meeting we all agreed we wanted to go somewhere a bit different and a bit nicer then our usual trips to the major chain restaurants. My Dad recommended La Dolce Vita as he had been some years ago and... More

I've been coming here for years. The food is always outstanding. I've had one of the best steaks ever here. It's like eating in the front room of an Italian family. I can't praise this place highly enough, Easily the best Italian in Leicester and one of the best restaurants in the city.

It's been a good 3-4 years since I've eaten at La Dolce Vita, mainly because we moved out of the city centre into rural Leicestershire 3 years ago and there are enough good options out in the Shire to save journeying into the city centre. Having been confident enough to state that this was the best Italian we'd had in... More

Although I have previously enjoyed meals here, our fourth visit showed they have definitely declined. Reviews which claim this to be the best Italian in Leicester are having you on, and not helpful to La Dolce Vita. However, we had hoped it would prove a reasonably reliable local near to us, to save having to go into town. The ingredients... More

After having given the Dolce Vita a 5 star review previously, I was so disappointed with a recent visit. The fillet steak had a tough membrane running through the centre which made it almost inedible and was incorrectly cooked. Even the chips weren't up to their usual standard. The squid was a very small portion and was extremely chewy It... More

We have sold countless portions of squid and fillet steak prior to and post this review without any complaints. Like a lot of reviewers, you seem unable to highlight any problems on the night you visited. The squid takes two minutes to fry therefore could have been replaced very quickly. We moniter all of our deliveries and have never found... More

This was my first visit to LDV in many years and whilst the premises remain the same much has changed . The old Italian guy Angelo is no longer there but has been replaced by two lovely ladies who were very pleasant and helpful . Its strange that a city the size of Leicester has so few decent privately owned... More
