Lovely old pub, excellent menu, had the best blade of beef ever here. Service somewhat geared to locals although all attended to. Good for a snack when dog walking as well as full on meal. Always a good venue. Advise booking at weekends

Our first trip to the Curzon on the first weekend of December and it was packed! A small country pub with a double room bar and eating areas. Definitely advisable to reserve a table here. Beautiful décor (tartan verses shabby chic oak). Food was really good and children's menu available. Only complaint was the plates were cold and the bar... More

Visited here on the 19th November for lunch. Very nice ambiance and staff were very friendly and attentive. I ordered the ham and cheddar sandwich with chips (definitely not on the 'light lunch' option menu). Very nice home made chips and generally the meal was very well presented. Don't though think this is a light meal (obviously you would need... More

We recently visited the Curzon for a birthday celebration on recommendation. I must say we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. Would definitely recommend it !

This was our second visit in a month and the first for many years. The pub has a relaxed air with a young cheerful complement of staff. The food was v good but be warned the serving size is large and I struggled with a starter and Main meal and was unable to contemplate a desert. The pies are awesome... More

The fact that there's a bloke on the door "seating" people doesn't say "pub" to me. We fancied a filled roll, commonly known as a "cob" in these parts, and a pint. He said they didn't do cobs, but we could have a sandwich, which was obviously fine. As he sat us down he said that we wouldn't find the... More

Hi 23run and thanks for your review. Despite you clearly being a 'professional' reviewer (well done you!) we need just to correct you on one or two of your comments. Firstly, we don't have somebody stand at the door as you put it. Why on earth would we? The fact that you were greeted politely and courteously in our restaurant... More

We visited with family for Sunday lunch and had a fantastic experience for the second time. The pub feels like walking into a pub in the Lake District for us which is no bad thing. The food is excellent and all the staff are brilliant. We will be visiting again very soon, as will our family. Well done!

Matt & Ben, thank you for helping make our son's 18th a night to remember. We knew the food, drink and service would be top class, but that you were happy to help in any way possible to mark his big day was just outstanding. Everyone involved was super helpful on the night, bringing a great attitude and spirit of... More

An excellent, dog friendly, pub with an extensive lunchtime menu. we were all made welcome and the food was freshly prepared and promptly delivered. My husband and I, despite the wide choice on the menu, both opted for the fish finger sandwich on a 'door step' white sandwich. Again the puddings were excellent and I can recommend the sticky toffee... More

We've been to lots of pubs round here for food, they're all very similar but this is probably a cut above. We had the set menu. My son and I shared the chateaubriand which was first class. The others had pork, chicken etc, all very tasty and the grannies polished off their puddings after turning their noses up at them... More
