Indian food I've never tried before!

Having heard so much about it, I was definitely going in with very high expectations. And since I eat Indian food all the time, I wasn't sure if I would find anything exciting on the menu. But I was surprised to read names of dishes I'd never heard of before! I ordered Shagorer Mis-rito Puree... read more

Before going to a performance of Oh What A Lovely War at The Curve (great theatre btw!) we decided to take advantage of the pre-theatre menu offer at Chutney Ivy, across the street. It was a very good decision - welcomed very warmly, placed at a window table, and served very promptly but with real enthusiasm from all waiting staff.... More

After hearing a number of good things about this place I found it to be very disappointing. Food is over priced for what it is and the quantity you get. Alcoholic drinks are way way over the top in terms of pricing. I thought I was paying for a drink in central London. Card machine didn't work at all so... More

You really are treated to a modern Indian take on a fine open-plan dining idealized by location ( Halford Street , opposite The Curve) and by decor for pre-theatres...and hence dining slots...though this will influence scheduling for other customers The chicken dishes were hit and miss, a excellently abundantly flavoured Taweli, was let down by the bland Haryali...well cooked but... We booked by email from the Phoenix at the start of an early evening film, and had a very good meal around 8:30 when we came out. Service was brisk, the food freshly cooked, the dining area pleasant. Actually, the food was more than good, it was distinctly flavoured and fragrantly spiced. A very successful meal.

Waited in lounge area for other guests but were not offered drinks. Took a long time to be offered drinks at the table. Later wanted 2nd round of drinks and again difficult to get attention to request. Never did receive jug of water despite asking twice. Poppadoms were small and pickles provided were minimal. No music to help with ambience.... More

We have dined here before but not for a while & this restaurant has got even better. We had the pre theatre meal. A set menu but with a good range of foods & plenty of it. Some different dishes from the run of the mill & exquisite flavours. Added bonus of dining with the cast of the production we... More

We visited the restaurant on a Friday night to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had prebooked. The place had been recommended to us by a friend. The location is not exactly city centre but not far from it.Parking is available opposite the place. The restaurant looks nice,is spacious .We liked the ambience. We were greeted warmly by the staff and seated in a... More

We went last night before going to the Curve to see wonderful production of Adrian Mole. We had the pre theatre banquet. It was superb and very reasonably priced. The place was very busy even at the early hour of 6 pm but the service was excellent and we finished our meal with plenty of time to get to the... More

We booked a table for 10pm and it was a travesty there were so few customers at that time on a Friday night. The place is lovely, staff were great and the food was gorgeous. Not in Leicester very often at a but will definitely eat here again if we come back.
