We went for a celebratory meal. Only five in our party. Starters were mostly ok. My soup was in a warmed bowl which was pleasing, sadly that the soup was not heated properly. I had another starter in place of main course this time the prawns these again were served lukewarm with dipping sauces pored over. The over cooked prawns... More

Went for my birthday meal on the back of the reputation of The Boot Room's sister restaurant(which is fantastic). Arrived expecting big things, but left so disappointed. From start to finish the managers attitude was so bad I was actually shocked. He took our drinks order like it was the end of the world. A member of our party ordered... More

Went on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was very quiet, with only two tables occupied including ours. Service: Weren't informed what the 'soup of the day' was - surely that's something that all restaurants tell you if it's on the menu. I'd say that overall the service was very basic, "are you ready to order?" "do you want dessert?" No... More

I have eaten here a few times but doubt I will again. The food is better than average, but we were kept waiting an age between courses. It was also difficult to get the waitresses attention. I found it extremely noisy and because of the bad acoustics of the room you can only hear the person directly next to you.

We were a large group so had a party menu to choose from in advance. I had delicious mushrooms and bacon on gluten free toast, risotto and a chocolate mousse desert. The option for desert on the original menu was just ice cream, so I emailed and asked for something better, and they came up with 3 nicer options! Everyone... More

After reading some great reviews my friend and I booked the Boot Room for my birthday. I was expecting excellent food, but was disappointed. It's nice and presented really well, but sadly I feel nothing special and overpriced. We were sat in the front section which was draughty each time people went out to smoke. The service was very good... More

I arrived at the Boot Room for my Brothers 40th full of expectation and nothing could have prepared me for the inapt meal I was about to receive. The starter, Cod Cheeks & Risotto was nice but very, very small. Ok maybe the main course would redeem them but unfortunately the Duck was shockingly bad. Obviously cooked to death in... More

We Had heard good reviews so when we saw a deal on Wowcher we thought we'd give it a try. Taken to our table swiftly on arrival which was at the back but i asked for a table in the front bit ( upon advice of someone who had been) and i agree the atmosphere was nice. The starters were... More

I visited the Bootroom recently to celebrate my 60th Birthday with friends and family, having never been there before and was very disappointed. My starter was delicious but there was very little of it. The person sat next to me had scallops. I realise these are expensive but three very tiny scallops (which looked like the frozen variety rather than... More

We booked this restaurant on the basis of an offer. Hadn't even heard of it before so wasn't entirely sure what to expect. Fine Dining is what we received. The choice of food on the menu catered for all tastes. The atmosphere was good, not too noisy for a Friday evening either. Staff were very attentive and it was nice... More
