Food is great!

I have eaten at this restaurant several times over the last few years. The service is a little slow, but then again, many European restaurants have slow service as compared to what I am accustomed to. Overall, the food is great!

I had a dinner here with a group of about 18 friends for a celebratory dinner. We were asked to choose our dishes in advance from a menu of three courses at a cost of £25 (+service). I chose Chicken Liver Parfait, Seared Sea Bass, and Blueberry Soufflé with Ice cream. The Parfait was inedible – I generally like parfait... More

I was a little worried when we arrived a little early at this restaurant to meet some friends and found it completely empty. Being vegetarian I was also a bit concerned by the limited menu.... However was actually pleasantly surprised. As often the case with restaurants that offer a shorter menu the food was cooked extremely well. I chose the... More

I have been to the Boot Room a number of times now - always for lunch at the weekend and it is usually really quiet (I'm sure it's much busier in the evenings!). I understand what other reviewers mean about the lack of atmosphere - a little bit of background music might make all the difference?! Nothing loud, just enough... More

Nice enough but lacked a bit of ambience. Was a bit cold. Staff not over-friendly. Food OK. Nothing really set it apart from any other restaurant in Leicester.

I had heard great reviews about the Boot Room, so I was amazed at how lack lustre it was. Don't get me wrong the food was nice, but I wouldn't call it fine dining and therefore was a little overpriced. I think the rest of Leicester agrees with us because there was only one other couple there.

Visited The Boot Room on Tuesday with my partner. Despite having read reviews about the restaurant being quiet on a midweek night (which is presumably not unusual) we found the atmosphere to be lovely for a romantic meal. Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Our starters of king prawns and scallops were both beautiful and can't recommend highly enough. Mains... More

We ate here on a Wednesday evening, place was almost empty of diners. The decor was good, staff friendly but very quiet.

Booked this restaurant for my boyfriends 30th birthday, we had 20 people on our table and I can't fault the food or staff at all, Laura the manager was very helpful with the booking and setting the table up with balloons before we all arrived. All the staff that served us were lovely. The food came out all together and... More
