visited this place for the first time on Sun afternoon with my daughter after reading the reviews on here and we loved it. My daughter who is quite a fussy eater really enjoyed the chicken and stuffing sandwiches and I had an afternoon tea with smoked salmon sandwiches and a cake and scones. We sat outdoors as the weather was... More

Absolutely love this place. So quaint, relaxing and fantastic quality. Will be taking a friend there next week for breakfast. Given the choice when in town I won't go anywhere else. (This is coming from a chef as well).

I was planning to write a careful review of this place but my faith in human nature was restored. Visiting two sick relatives in the city, I went to the Cathedral and was advised to visit Mrs Bridges Tea Room. It was coming towards lunchtime so my companion and I decided to eat. I had one of their special sandwiches... More

The food is always so good and I always try to pop in when I'm near the market. The service can be slow but worth the wait. Leicester Classic

This is one of my fave haunts. The service is always first class and it's a really nice soothing place to have some tea. I have been visiting this place since I was a kid and will continue to for many many years to come!

Stopped for afternoon teas for the first time when shopping with a friend yesterday. A lovely haven of calm behind busy streets. Sat outside. Food and drink fine, service with a smile. Excellent facility. Try it

Lunchtime - Service was slow and food was large in portion but small on quality. Drinking glasses smelled of fish bowl. All of us felt ill afterwards. Needs revamping - smells like school dinners inside.

Mrs Bridges isn't cheap - sandwiches start at £4.10 but tea for one comes in a proper pot for only £1.65. The menu covers all tea shop classics - love eggs royale with hollandaise sauce, as well as a range of specials. Portions are generous, service is friendly and the tea shop is furnished with old pews and wooden tables... More

I stumbled upon it by accident and I haven't looked back! The food is lovely and it is a really quaint, dainty little place. The waitresses have been very pleasant when I have visited and the kitchen staff are equally as friendly. I really like it here. It is very good value for money too

This is a place that I found by sheer accident when I first came to Leicester over 15 years ago. Though the favourites have not changed, the food menu has continued to develop and offer more variety for the lunchtime diner. The same lady still serves upstairs and she epitomises the whole ethos of this quaint restaurant. Food is amazing,... More
