I visited here with a friend on a Monday lunchtime after the Richard 3rd re-internment week. The food was excellent, reasonably priced & well presented and service was quick despite the layout of the building. The loos are very small & the other thing that didn't impress me was the lack of soap. It was a shame that let it... More

Mrs Bridges serves some of the nicest food for lunch or afternoon tea in Leicester. There is a very good choice and you get good portions. The main problem with Mrs Bridges is it's popularity, it can be difficult to get a table at busy times. Service is also tricky due to the layout of the building. The servers do... More

My worst fears about agreeing to travel to Leicester to see Richard III's coffin before his final(?) burial were realised virtually immediately on leaving the car park: there was the huge queue, and the only visible part of the Cathedral was the top of the spire above the roofs of the many buildings separating us from the much maligned King's... We visited with our family last weekend. There were quite a few of us and it was very full. Therefore we elected to sit outside - chilly but our choice. The selection of food was excellent. The sandwiches - huge! . So much so the fillings fell out. Good varied menu . Service very good .

My experience of Mrs Bridge's is both good and bad. The tea room itself was lovely and I throughout enjoyed my coffee with cream (which is a lot more difficult to get than you'd expect!). However I did witness a rude staff member who was trying to communicate with a couple who did not speak English - she was quite... More

Saw that Mrs Bridges had had good reviews and looked forward to our visit, although I left feeling disappointed. We arrived mid morning on a Thursday, 3 of us in our party and we sat downstairs. It felt quite cramped, we didn't realise there was more space and seating upstairs until later! I fancied some cake but the main things... More

Our family group of 6 dropped into Mrs Bridges for a Sunday morning breakfast. The good points: + Menu options suited all of us + Good value for everything we chose + The 'small' English breakfast was big enough for normal appetites The not so good points: - The interior has several rooms but all of these are fairly small,... Visited this tea room this week on a lunchtime for a quick sandwich. We ordered 2 hot pork, stuffing and black pudding sandwiches, mine without the black pudding. The sandwich arrived and promptly fell to pieces as I tried to pick it up which made me look inside. Lots of crumbled stuffing and 2 small slices (bacon depth slices) of... More
