Excellent food & service!

We went out with friends as a further celebration of our wedding anniversary and booked Maiyango as it seemed a good place to try, some reviews were a bit mixed but looking at the menus on line, they looked good - best way to describe it is a fusion of Asian & British cuisine. We like tasting... read more

What a let down. We ate here for lunch (in March) and really didn't meet expectations. The menu choice was limited and seemed to be a 'mish-mash' of dishes. The furniture was so uncomfortable, the chairs were so unstable. The service was poor and the for lunch time & food portion it is incredibly over priced!!!

Not exactly hidden, but a gem none the less. With the re-development of Jubilee Square this place is going to go from strength to strength, and rightly so. The atmosphere is relaxed, not pretentious, and the food is amazing. Service is excellent and not "in your face" whilst, when asked if we enjoyed our food it was clear that the... More

It was a lovely relaxed evening, not too busy as was a weekday night. Luckily two out of the three booths were still available. So comfortable and so nicely done. We had a lovely view of the whole restaurant. The food was brilliant value for money in design, execution and taste. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. There was one momentary lapse... More

We had visited Maiyango before and it was lovely, but this time was just average. The tasting menus only had a vegetarian or gluten free menu (no meat?) and none of the starters interested us so we just had mains and deserts, although if we hadn't already ordered a bottle of wine I think we would have gone elsewhere anyway.... First of all when booking your meal make sure you request one of the booths. this will make for a perfect romantic evening for any occasion. The food and service is impeccable and the atmosphere just rounds the whole evening off perfectly. This is one of our favourite restaurants in Leicester and we will continue to savour this for special... More

If you like to see and be seen then this is the place to go. There's a really peculiar arrangement when you arrive... you can't go straight to your table, they insist you sit in the bar which is overcrowded and uncomfortable. Once in the dining room the tables are packed together and it's impossible to have a conversation without... More

As a vegan, I have to admit to being rather Victor Meldrew-esque when I venture out to dine with friends. I either go home hungry, disappointed, or a disgruntled mixture of the two. So all I can say is thank goodness for Maiyango, in Leicester's city centre. Like several other eateries in Leicestershire, it has upped the ante when it... More

Went here on a Saturday evening and had a table booked for 9.15pm which was perfect for us in the end - if you want the popular times between 7 and 9pm you will need to book early. The menu was great and the food and service both really good. The only thing I would say is that the tables... More

My wife and I visited maiyango restaurant while we were staying at the maiyango hotel celebrating a wedding anniversary . I'd taken the time to go into the restaurant a few weeks before to reserve the best possible table i could , i booked a nice table for two at the end of a row of tables of two as... More
