Trying it out

Having never heard of the 'world famous fish and chips' before my fiancée and I decided to try it out. Wasn't the best I have had, but it was a decent enough feed. It was a little bit expensive for my taste though. Especially for the size of the meals given to us. Staff were nice and friendly... read more

I’ll be honest, Blackpool would not be my destination of choice on a Bank Holiday weekend and a Fish and Chip restaurant wouldn’t normally be high on my list of favoured eateries either. However, I had a very good reason to be in Blackpool, and as we’d never sampled Harry Ramsden’s previously we decided to give it a go. The... More

We (2 adults, an 11 & 9 year old) had lunch here and it was ok. Staff friendly, building seemed new. Chips were really nice. We were just surprised at how small the kids burger was and the fish cake starter was only one cake. Compared to the massive pieces of fish others were getting we obviously didn't choose well!... Not your hole in the wall fish and chips shop. Well done cod and chips, mushy peas and slaw. Cute newspaper printed plates. A bit more expensive than a corner shop, but worth it to sit down in a spacious setting with promenade views.

From the outside it looked like some old fish and chippy , but when we went in we had a shock ! It has a fresh and modern upper class feel to it ,we were greeted by friendly staff and show to our table . Absolutely delicious food but wasn't the fastest to arrive ! Next time I'm in Blackpool... People told me to avoid because it is expensive - it is actually no more expensive than one of the cheaper and dirtier placed we ate on the sea front and the food was much better here. It is clean, well presented and staff were helpful. Much of the sea front little restaurants are over priced, provide poor quality food... More

Apart from initially being seemingly ignored when we first entered the restaurant everything else was magnificent. A young blond lady (East European I believe) broke the initial non-plus by being very friendly, courteous, smiling and bringing us to a nice booth table just behind the central "clam-shaped family table" Then our hostess,Angela, came along and took our order - I ordered the... Went here for lunch today and when we arrived it was very busy but we didn't have to wait long to be seated. The table was abit cramped though. We had to wait quite a long time to get food - people who were seated after us were served before us. When food did come the portions we good. No... More
