My wife and I have just spent a few days in the lakes and one mid afternoon we called into Brambles. We had a lovely greeting from the lady owner who made us feel very welcome. It was so nice we made a return visit the following day. Quite a breath of fresh air from the usual "Tea Room" that... More

We called in mid afternoon not sure whether we wanted lunch or just afternoon tea. My partner spotted a deal on the blackboard for a bacon barm and a cup of tea or coffee for £3.50 - no argument! I had a sausage barm which was given to me for the same price, both barms were well filled with good... More

We had a great lunch in this lovely little cafe. The staff were really welcoming, food was good and it was all at a reasonable price. Definitely recommended for lunch, coffee or a home made cake.

Came in for late lunch. Had coffee and bacon deal which was excellent value as was the slice of apricot flapjack which followed. Bacon thick, and of very good quality; multi grained bread was yummy too. Very pleasant owners. Would absolutely return.

Well, we walked from bowness with baby in a pram , and this wonderful little cafe. The lady owner, welcomed us as old friends; they were so helpful. So on to the snack, mmmm the soup of the day, was sweet pumkin and parsnip with a bacon sandwich, a pot of tea.we were shown the magazine and newspapers to pick... More

Cute little tearoom with a quick and friendly service. We had two teacakes and milkshakes for an afternoon snack, milkshakes could have been bigger but were tasty all the same. Very pleasant little place :)

We stumbled upon Brambles on a frosty day in February with our 2 sons and was made to feel at home by the lady owner who handed my sons the dominoes and pointed out the newspapers and magazines for me and my husband. We had cooked full English with tea and toast and it was just perfect and excellent value... More

One of only 2 establishments open on new years day afternoon as far as we could see. We had walked into Bowness that morning from Windermere, taken a ferry up to Brockhole, had a walk around then decided to walk back into Windermere for a late lunch. Brambles was quite full, but, luckily enough we managed to get a seat... More
