This is a good restaurant - probably 3.5 stars rather than 4, but (at least in our experience) overhyped by many of the reviews below. The positives - great ambience, charming owner, intimate setting and AMAZING side vegetables. The carrots and sugar snap peas were unbelievably tasty. The negatives - well...we weren't really going there for the vegetables. We were... More

If you like your fish then definitely try this place. We ordered calamari to start- light crisp batter and perfectly cooked. I had the red mullet on paella for main- fantasticly crisp skin and succulent flesh on the mullet- was gorgeous. The paella was really tasty- nice strong fish stock and the mixture of fish was varied enough not to... More

Service was excellent. Food was fresh and gorgeous. We had the prawn starter followed by a tuna steak and sea bass then baileys and white chocolate parfait. All 3 courses were excellent. And although it has £££ I didn't think it was expensive. £60 including drinks. Would highly recommend.

Finally managed to visit Hooked and was not disappointed. Booking was made months ago to ensure we could get a table and the reviews since then have been researched surprised at some of the negatives. We were welcomed by the owner who we found to be a very pleasant guy, willing to chat briefly with his customers and explaining the... More

All I will say is GO HERE. The food is exceptional along with amazing service. My only fault is lack of rose wine but it didn't spoil my meal at all. Lots of choice and loads of flavour. We will definitely be back.

From the minute we stepped in, for my friend's 40th we were treated exceptionally. Michael, the owner, gave us all the detail we needed about the menu and had a really friendly manner. The food was exceptional, the nicest main fish dish I've ever had and the choice of wine was gorgeous. The atmosphere in the restaurant was welcoming. We'll... More

We went to Hooked on a Thursday evening. The restaurant is simply decorated and intimate, with only 7 or so tables in the whole establishment. The service and hospitality was excellent from the moment we walked in. We were talked through all our choices and options with both food and wine by the owner who clearly knows his stuff. I'm... Very good starters - whitebait for me and battered calamari for my wife. The whitebait were very tasty and the calamari light and crispy. The mains were Cod in a very nice sauce for my wife and Mullet for myself. Both were well cooked and tasty. Excellent.
