We were in windermere for 3 days, had dinner at Francines the 2nd day. Menu looked interesting, lot of different items and not very expensive. Interesting menu. Lots of wholesome choices. I had the venison burger which was not bad. My guest had the lamb shank which was excellent. Westmorland spicy pudding with butterscotch sauce was fab. Nice selection of local beers. Overall good value and pleasant atmosphere.

Leek and potato soup (du jour) is proper soup, not like that stodge most English restaurants try to pass off. Beef Daube was fantastic, with flavours exploding in your mouth from the just right beef.
