We dined at Mrs Miller's on the Saturday evening of a weekend trip away. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was cosy and quirky. The staff were lovely, very welcoming and friendly. The B and B we were staying in up the road had phoned to make the reservation for us and upon learning it was my... More

we have started to use this restaurant regularly now due to the excellent food, friendly service and amazingly reasonable prices. three course for about £16 is unbeatable. James the chef will not let a poor meal out of his kitchen.

Another brilliant meal at Mrs Miller's Culgaith. Starters included scallops, lobster and prawns with home made bread, I had gluten free garlic and rosemary bread which was delicious. Main courses was the best steak ive ever had and one duck. All were fabulous. So full both couples shared dessert. Well worth a visit. The service was excellent.

Called here for lunch and both were disappointed at the scant portions. As for the price - very much overpriced for what we got. Also the quiet atmosphere in the conservatory made casual conversation rather stilted. In future we will avoid the detour from A66 and carry on into Penrith where there was a good selection of eateries.

Excellent service, food was beautiful after I had eaten i wad watching the very busy chefs at work, I was very disappointed with the levels of hygiene as food was being dished out, nearly everything was dished out using their hands, no utensils, in between service a chef would stop to itch his head or nose then proceed to dish... We have done many detours over the past few years to enjoy the superb lunches and dinners (Friday and Saturday evening) at this very special place. We regularly travel south from Scotland and a stop off here is the highlight of our journey. The menu is varied and tempting -tremendous value for money with much local produce, cooked and presented... More
