A hidden gem that is well worth a detour, outstanding food and service.

We were staying in Culgaith for one night and as it was a Friday we were recommended to book a table at the local garden centre cafe, which we duly did. We were amazed to find such a special restaurant in such an unusual location. The quality of the dishes was outstanding, the service was very... read more

We called at Mrs Miller's for breakfast on a Sunday morning and were not disappointed. One member of the party had the Westmorland breakfast (at an unbelievably low price), one had a Cumberland Breakfast, and one had a breakfast sandwich. In all three, the quality of the meats and the standard of cooking were excellent. Welcoming staff and a caring... More

We called in for lunch as we had heard really good reports about the restaurant and we weren't disappointed. We just wanted a light lunch and there was lots to choose from. The crayfish and smoked salmon were very good and the bread was home-made and delicious. The breakfast sandwich that one of the party had was exceptionally good. All... More

My wife and I both had the sirloin steaks, they were excellent and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The staff were efficient and friendly.

We called in late one midweek afternoon with our friends and their dog, we opted for the lunchtime special, celeriac & spring onion soup with homemade bread followed by Gammon, egg & chips. Great value at £6.00. Service was friendly and efficient, the waitress offering fresh water for the dog. We will be going back when we are in the... More

We had to start, Pate and Potted Trout - both fantastic One of us had the rib eye steak which was absolutely brilliant; wonderfully cooked by James. Nothing to much trouble when I asked for veg! instead of fried onion rings and tomato Hubby had a Beef... More

We dined at Mrs Miller's on the Saturday evening of a weekend trip away. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was cosy and quirky. The staff were lovely, very welcoming and friendly. The B and B we were staying in up the road had phoned to make the reservation for us and upon learning it was my... More

Another brilliant meal at Mrs Miller's Culgaith. Starters included scallops, lobster and prawns with home made bread, I had gluten free garlic and rosemary bread which was delicious. Main courses was the best steak ive ever had and one duck. All were fabulous. So full both couples shared dessert. Well worth a visit. The service was excellent.
