Really nice pub excellent meal

Had read some reviews and thought we'd go for ourselves. The pub is very nice in side with some eating tables with a much larger eating area upstairs. We sat in the bar area which was still very pleasant. Both had the pan steak which I have to say is the best I have had for a long time. With... read more

This is a very popular pub at the eastern entrance to penrith. It's where the locals would go for a decent meal out without having to drink and drive with only a short taxi ride back to anywhere in penrith. I eat here myself usually at lunchtimes, the foods well above average and it's easy to park if you've got... More

Our party for Sunday lunch consisted of 5 adults plus our nine week old gorgeous granddaughter! We ate upstairs where the views are marvellous. The sunday roasts (pork or beef) were brilliant, all the staff were very friendly and it was excellent value for money. We will definitely be back.

Went here for a family birthday lunch on a Saturday. There were 5 adults, 3 kids and 1 dog. We sat downstairs and felt so comfortable as we were not in anyone's way, the atmosphere was great and tge staff were great. A fair time for food to arrive as you would expect of home cooked good food. Well worth... More

Found this pub after staying at centre parks in Penrith, there was eight of us three adults and five children. We didn't want to pay centre parks extortionate prices before driving home. What a gem! Food excellent especially the steak and ale pie ( home made ) and portions were very generous. I only wish we lived nearer but it's... More

I love this place, Sunday lunch is one of the best, staff are great and upstairs leading out to large balcony with fantastic views is perfect. We have since moved from Penrith to Carlisle but I will always go back when in area. As soon as you walk in you are always recognised and made very welcome. Thank you for... More
