The pub is a traditional pub however the food could be better. I would like to see home made chips rather than fried frozen chips with little content and more than one choice of Sunday roast. The menu needs to be reduced in size too and a focus on freshly prepared quality food.

Went here for an early tea on Friday before catching an evening train to Euston.Food was fresh and homemade. An open fire was lit in the bar.Atmosphere was great in an old fashioned pub with a man playing old songs on his guitar. Will definitely be back.

We went went here on 08/11/2014. We sat in the restaurant area of the place and it was very nice, I had the homemade tomato soup which was lovely and my wife chose the plaice gougons. The gougons were nice and light. The steak and ale pie was ok but the pastry was a little underdone however the rest of... More

I often eat here and would recommend it to anyone. Its a nice place to relax and the restaurant area is nice. The staff are willing to help with anything. They are genuine people, not trying to fob you off. I left my driving licence there and they posted it to me. Fantastic!!

Recently visited this pub and had a smashing evening meal. My husband had broccoli pasta bake which came with garlic bread and salad. Which he said was lovely. I had Thai fish cakes and had new potatoes and veg. I was offered chips mash or boiled too. They also have guest beers. It was very busy so advise booking. Definitely... More

A Jennings pub so it would be rude not to try the beer. We also had food a 12oz steak which was cooked to perfection with all the trimmings and lots of it also scampi which again was a plate full and a half. Top tip get in before 5pm on a friday as it gets packed after then.

Me and my family went here for my sisters birthday. We all had a three course meal and couldn't fault it. There was a wide range of options for each course and plenty of drinks to choose from. The service was quick and friendly and the meals were great. The portion sizes were huge but we all enjoyed every bite.... More

Our party of 6 had lunch here two weekends running. The menu for lunch is extensive and there is a Specials board. The food we had on both visits was very good and the portions were substantial. The staff are friendly and only too happy to assist and the service to table was prompt and unfussy. The hotel is located... More

We wanted a typical British restaurant and this corresponded exactly to what we searched. Car park available, another good point!
