Having found out that our old favourite haunt the Lakeland Pedlar has closed we headed here for a much needed breakfast after a four hour drive all hungry and cold. Very friendly, good service, eggs benedict lovely as was the cumberland sausage bap but would have been great had the plates been warmed, all the food sadly tepid by the... More

I called here a few times with my 3 dogs during recent walking holiday in the area. Tried the full vegetarian English breakfast on the first visit and it set me up for the day for a days walk on the fells. After that first visit I knew I had to come back to sample 1). The eggs benedict, and... More

Have been here twice, once as a lunch stop during an MTB ride, service was excellent , could keep an eye on our bikes and food was just what we needed. So after finishing the Whinlatter Xtreme Duathlon this was the obvious choice and it didn't disappoint in fact the main course was so good I had to decline some... More

Recently got introduced to the FSC by a friend, and i have to be honest, i have possibly had the best burger in my life! Ever since that, every Monday's lunch is at the Café. Service is excellent, food is great, and the milkshakes are even better! Looking forward to the next visit!

I regularly adjust my route when driving to and from the lakes to make sure I can grab a bite in here. The food is top notch...I'm always a sucker for the pancake stacks with sausage, the wife is rather partial to the burgers! What's more...they do whole pints of tea...that's right! And not that insipid rubbish most places with... More

We go here on a regular basis, warm very friendly and more important good food. It occurs to us the more we go, it's like minded people who go there. Walkers love it, dog owners feel comfortable, even after a muddy walk( because they have clean easy floor) and we love to hear the bikers talk of there fantastic ride they... More

The Filling Station in Keswick is a breath of fresh air in the Lake District, its individual, independent and has real personality. This cafe's theme provides it with identity - something that is lacking in so many cafe's, particularly in the lakes. The music and memorabilia really added to what was a fantastically hearty breakfast and the service and value... More
