Most nights we finished off with a couple of drinks in this well furnished pub. Good value and friendly staff and, if you are still hungry, good choice of nibbles.

Yes, the pies are gigantic, even beyond the hype printed on the menu. But, unless you're into sheer poundage, the food here is really only quite average. The inn itself is pretty amazing, the oldest such place in town, and originally the George & Dragon, until George 1 ascended the throne and the Dragon was removed from the title so... More

Everybody is so right the pie is amazing, now my husband has a good appetite but on seeing the size of a full pie he opted for 1/2 a pie and was not disappointed with both size and taste. Although renowned for the pie other options on the menu are equally good standard. We booked in advance so no problems... More

Just had a fantastic (LARGE!) breakfast for lunch complete with black pudding, yum! One of my favorite places for an evening meal du to good food and friendly staff.

We ate at the George one evening in July and one of us had the half portion of Cow pie (£12.95) and the other two the half portion of Famer's pie (chicken, same price). We also ordered a bottle of Chardonnay and paid £20 for that. A plate of bread came with the food. The food was fantastic - heavy... More

A few tasty Jennings beers to enjoy in the bar, before you sample the delights of the restaurant. We make a point of eating here at least twice each time we visit Keswick and it never disappoints. It may be a tad on the expensive side but the food is great. I recommend the steak pie. I haven't had it... More

Like this pub, but compared to such as the Dog and Gun some of the meals are pricey. The food we had was good, the Jack Daniels chicken, but not worth £12.95. The beer was expensive, £3.50 for a pint of Sneck a Lifter.

Nice old place, good beer, cosy atmosphere. Quite a lot of choice on the menu and everything seemed to come in big portions!
