Great bar/ restaurant

We spent a lovely afternoon in here drinking. I liked the selection of real ales and my wife enjoyed the Rose wine. Nothing to dislike.

Well laid our restaurant but food average, service mixed and won't be returning as there are many better in Keswick. If the sun is shining as good a place as any to sit out.

We visited on a Friday evening. For my starter I had the pate. When it arrived I could not believe what I was looking at. Three small crackers on a bed of lettuce each with a small dollop of pate that looked like it had been squeezed out of a tube. For this they were charging £5.25. What made this... More

After much walking about trying to decide where we were going to eat, my wife and I stopped at this restaurant and we were not disappointed. To start with the atmosphere was lovely, with a really nice mix of tables and seating arrangements, so that you don't just feel like a sardine, squashed in to maximise capacity and then there... We went here on a Wednesday evening without a reservation and they were very accommodating. We had a Breaded Camembert starter each and then a steak burger for the main each. The food was prompt and to a high standard. We really enjoyed our meal. The staff were pleasant too.

The first thing that sticks out when thinking about this restaurant is the staff. They are all really friendly and attentive from the boss, to the amusing young “jack the lad” waiter and the trainee for whom it was her first night. Similarly the food was well presented, had good sized portions and well presented. We particularly liked the spicy... More

Visited the bistro on couple of occasions and have enjoyed each visit. Lovely decor friendly and welcoming either throughout the day or evening. Food there is a varied choice to eat and plenty on the special boards also. All homemade and presented well, steak cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend a visit.

Good food and a friendly service. Mid priced and busy, which is good as people are liking it. Liked the burger, and our very specific choices we made were listened to. Thanks

Keswick has many good quality restaurants and bistros. This one is excellent. We chose from the special menu. Homemade specialities and local produce, great service and good advice. Chose the Cabernet Sauvignon as a compromise but it was really very good at £15.75. No room for dessert unfortunately. We really enjoyed the unpretentious homeliness of the place too.

Although busy we were given a table for 2 and didn't feel rushed or squished. Food was excellent and reasonably priced, would def go again
