Fantastic food in Kendal!

My wife and I have had the fine pleasure of dining at this restaurant on at least 6 occasions over the course of the last 5 years. The place never fails to provide that quality of food and warming atmosphere that entices you in for more. The food is very good, better than the majority of London... read more

My wife and I ate here last Thursday, what a liitle gem......some great classic dishes with a nice twist, knowledgeable gentleman served us who advised us on a nice bottle of wine to match our dinner. A lovely example of a small independant restaurant offering a great product

We went to Deja Vu on a recommendation from the owners of the holiday apartment we were staying in. Menu is lovely, they have a specials menu as well as al a carte. Lots of choice. Each course was beautifully made, and I didn't even have room for dessert. Our waitress was particularly good, quite a large table for a... More

To be honest we only selected Deja Vu because it appeared to be the only restaurant open in Kendal on a Monday. The experience was very pleasant. The menu was wide enough to accommodate most tastes, the food was well prepared, and the price was reasonable. There was a good selection of local beer to choose from as well. The... More

Still reeling from my déjà vu experience!!!! It was one of those rare occasions when a group of 'mummies' can get together and treat ourselves out to a special meal... Sadly the hour before, 1 mum was poorly, 1 mum's child was poorly and 1 mum's husband was stuck on the motorway, so our numbers were unavoidably depleted! On entering... More

We were staying at the nearby Premier Inn on a Sunday night when we found this restaurant. We did not think we would need to book but the manager was outside watering the flowers so we asked and he suggested we should book as it makes it easier for the kitchen. How glad we were when sitting at our table... More

This is a friendly restaurant that does exactly says on the the tin! It is rustic French cooking with the odd English twist. It is never going to get a Michelin star, but that is not what it sets out to do.Ian is always welcoming. My starter of fresh English asparagus with a poached egg and a lovely crispy rosti, was very enjoyable,they... More

Visited last week with family, a lovely welcome from a very friendly waitress made us relax instantly. We did have to ask to order wine as the waitress was on her own and every table was full. The only negative on the night was that we had to choose our starters four times as we hadn't been told they had... More

I was part of a group of ladies who had booked a table for 8 only to find out at very short notice that three of our friends may not make it due to illness and road traffic accident delays. We had no time to warn to restaurant - but as we would still be a table of 5 we... More

We booked a table for 8 people, friends, all busy, professional mothers, all from the local area. 5 came on the Night , as things get in the way like crash on the motorway, children poorly etc... I called to confirm and, friendly enough the night before, all was good! The owner I guess proceeded in front of other dining... More
