The Joshua Tree is a delightful fully licensed Cafe & Bistro in one of Kendal's oldest buildings. Coffee Shop by day & our 'Famous' Starter & Pudding Club held monthly in the evening
Tucked away in one of Kendal's historic yards - a lovely sunny courtyard to catch those summer rays & inside a cosy open log fire for those cold chilly days.
All our food is freshly prepared and locally sourced. We are available for private parties (minimum 12 people) and can design a menu to suit any occasion from finger buffets to sumptuous 3 course dinners

Lovely night

Once again our visit to the Joshua Tree didn't disappoint! We enjoyed a relaxed and chilled evening of lovely food which was well presented and very enjoyable. Four of us each had different meals and not one of them disappointed us. Without doubt we'll be booking again.

I chose this restaurant for a birthday lunch on December 23rd, mainly because of the good reports it had got on Tripadvisor. I was not disappointed - we had the Christmas lunch menu, which was excellent value, and everything was beautifully prepared, tasty and just that little bit different. My beetroot and goat cheese started with hazelnuts, and my husband's... More

On December the 18th 4 of us had our meal booked at the Joshua Tree. From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming and very pleasant - nothing was too much trouble for them. The meal arrived in good time and all the courses were absolutely spot on! The cosy atmosphere made us feel relaxed and content -like a... More

Go to the Joshua Tree for breakfast occasionally. Really oldy worldy setting with a really relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast has always been well cooked and hot. Very reasonably priced and great friendly service. The staff are really friendly. The lunchtime and evening menus look delicious and they are advertising a New Year's Eve dinner that sounds delicious. Well worth a visit

The evening meal was exceptional, could not fault the quality of the food. Immaculate and friendly service, all for a very reasonable price. This place has a growing and glowing fan-base.

Fantastic little gem nestled away behind the shops in Kendal. Lovely olde world cafe/restaurant with a warm greeting, great staff and wonderful food at good prices. Licenced as well which is a bonus! Don't take any notice of the poor/average reviews as the place has been taken over since these were written. A must for lunch or evening dinner (booking... More

Went here with a group,of six friends. What a wonderful little gem. Ambience was homely and very cosy. Food was wonderful and the assiete of desserts they did for us were gorgeous. The poached pear and chocolate cake were to die for. What topped it off was the wonderful service and attention we were given by the host, they truly... More
