Lovely atmosphere!

Such a cosy place to eat. Hate to say this place was on my door step for 2 years and just never got round to going. Decided before i left Kendal i must go. The service was excellent, lovely and comfortable inside and the food was extremely tasty. Very nice wine too.

Visited on a dreary sturdy afternoon with my wife, daughter and mother in law. Lovely warm welcome, restaurant full of character. Colouring books and pens brought straight over for my little girl. Great selection of specials offering something different from the norm. Nice core menu selection aswell. Good honest home made food, great value too! It wasn't the first time... More

Had lunch here with a couple of friends. I was a bit worried when I realised it was under new management but I needn't have been. There is still a cosy homely atmosphere. Nick & his wife offer a good range of food with excellent friendly service. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will return.

Thought we would give Joshua Tree a call a couple days prior to NYE and we snapped up the last two places. Didn't know that it was under new management, but we loved the whole experience!! NYE was an intimate affair, only 15 covers which was great because you felt looked after. The food was absolutely fantastic: we had soup,... More

We'd been recommended this by others. Had a splendid light lunch - one the chicken salad and one the pasta in rich sauce topped with roasted veg. Best garlic bread ever. We wish the new owners every success and look forward to a return visit when we holiday here again.

Called in at Kendal on the way home from a family holiday in the Lake District. Quick check of trip advisor brought us to the Joshua Tree for a mid morning breakfast. Tucked away in a quiet pretty courtyard, it is housed in a beautiful timber framed old building full of character. Genuine warm friendly welcome, a good menu and... More

Any U2 fan is immediately captured by this cafe's name! We were recommended this place by our B&B host as a way of enjoying Kendal on a sunny summers morning. Tucked away in a side street, you can enjoy your filter coffee outside or inside. The building is full of character, we enjoyed our coffee and then went for a... More

Tried the Joshua Tree after almost missing the menu board on the wall of a side alley. What a great little place to enjoy a light healthy lunch. Fresh bread, fresh salads, try the Joshua Tree Salad. A bargain at £6.50. Washed down with great local ale. Would eat here any time checkout their menu on the official website.
