Another hidden gem!

I seem to be getting good at seeking out little places, hidden out of the way. I came here on the recommendation of my 9 year old nephew. I had a delicious salmon & prawn sandwich with a side order of chunky chips (very generous portion). My nephew had goujons and chips. He can be a picky eater but... read more

My husband and I were taken here by friends for lunch (6/5/2015) whilst visiting Kendal, the food was excellent and at a very reasonable price. The staff were friendly and the place was clean and an ideal place to eat. It was our first time eating here but I hope it won't be the last.

Visited here for lunch last week. Very friendly place with home made good food. Plenty of choice and specials board at discounted price. Outdoor tables as it was a lovely day. Would definitely recommend and we will go back on our next visit to Kendal.

This delightful quirky little bistro tucked away down a yard in Kendal has recently been taken over by Nick and Shelley Allen. Nick is an excellent chef and Shelley is a charming host. Excellent for light lunches and more, any day of the week. Special occasion meals are exceptional. My scoring is for the wonderful New Year's Eve dinner we... More

First of all, if you are lucky enough to find the Joshua Tree in Kendal situated as it is down a yard off a quiet street only then can you start to appreciate the quaintness of the really old building. The small entrance and the century old interior bring back memories of years gone by. But don't forget you also... More

We are in the process of moving house & are eating out more than usual as packing every thing in sight. We have been to the Joshua Tree any times in the past but this is the first time under new management . I had the warm goats cheese with beet root & apple purée & salad , very tasty... More

Such a cosy place to eat. Hate to say this place was on my door step for 2 years and just never got round to going. Decided before i left Kendal i must go. The service was excellent, lovely and comfortable inside and the food was extremely tasty. Very nice wine too.

Visited on a dreary sturdy afternoon with my wife, daughter and mother in law. Lovely warm welcome, restaurant full of character. Colouring books and pens brought straight over for my little girl. Great selection of specials offering something different from the norm. Nice core menu selection aswell. Good honest home made food, great value too! It wasn't the first time... More
