A busy service on Saturday lunchtime but happy staff, good food and therefore well satisfied customers. Enjoyed the hot smoked salmon with mackerel pate and salad with lovely toasted bread.

Every time my friends and I meet in Kendal, we try to eat here. I say TRY because if you don't get there by 12.30 lunchtime, you have little to no chance of a table. They have some exciting choices on the menu, and the spicy lamb pitta is wonderful. The soups are the best I've tasted and the salads... More

It's not what we would normally order but on a recent trip to Kendal and a visit to Baba Ganoush we both ordered the spicy bean burger. This came in a very good bun, probably from the craft bakery next door, with home made chips and salad, and was very good. As usual we eyeball all the food that is... More

Ate here on a busy lunchtime whilst dodging showers in Kendal - so glad we followed the little sign directly us down the alleyway! Super menu - we deliberated and perhaps dithered over the best combination of salads, breads and coffees! Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal - perched, it has to be said, on the thinnest of breakfast... More

Wonderful food, great coffee at excellent prices.Friendly obliging staff even when they are not quite open and set up for the day. More tables please , have been disappointed a couple of times not to be able to get a seat as it has been so busy.

Once you find the canteen, down a narrow walkway, you will remember it always. The food is consistently good and at a reasonable price. It has limited seating so you might have to wait, but it is well worth it, enjoy.

Stumbled upon this deli/cafe by accident and very pleased to have discovered it. Choice of beautiful salads, really different and interesting mixes as well as hot food, paninis etc. due to commitments elsewhere had to grab a panini (mozzarella and ratatouille melt with capers and olives - delicious) and coffee to go but next time I will be stopping for... Can't beat this place for a quality sarni and the salads and cakes are also top quality. Open at about 7.30 so if you have an eary start you can't beat it.

Not sure what to say, one good lunch, one distinctly average. Food a little greasy second time around. All off which leaves me underwhelmed and out of pocket as it's not cheap.
